    New here// Audi A4 2013 Quattro - Wheel & Tire Help

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hi guys,

So I finally managed to buy my 'dream car' well I wanted an S4 but couldn't afford it at the moment so I went with an Premium 2013 A4 Quattro Ibis White 25K. After 2 months of wheel hunting today I found an amazing deal for Vossen CVT 20" so I bought them before someone else could. Again I wanted them since the beginning but couldn't afford them until today. I got an insane deal but here is the issue.

    The wheels are:

    Front: 20x9 ET 35
    Rear: 20x10.5 Et42

    5x120

What do you guys think is there a way I can fit these on my car? I don't know much about sizes and et's, I know I will need to buy adapters which is not an issue but the rears are what scare me the most.

Can you guys tell me if this will work and what tires I should run with to make it fit.

Thank you and I will post pictures and mods as I go along.

ps* I know I went full retard here but I saved about 2000 grand even if it doesn't fit I am sure I can get my money back.

dont bother trying to make it fit. bolt pattern is different, the wheels are way too wide (esp in the back, even the front will poke a bit), and you shouldnt be running staggered on a quattro. plus youd have to run a 30 series tire and ride quality will be atrocious imo

Sell them. You need a 5 112 bolt pattern, with a 66.6 bore or greater (you'll need inserts). You can search the forum for offset and size fitment. And try not to buy wheels unless you know for sure they will fit. That what we're here for. Good luck man.

Oh man that sucks. I knew i should've been a bit more patient and asked here first. Alright well thanks for the help at least I won't kill myself trying to make them fit.

You can make them fit actually lol
You just have to run negative camber and make sure your car it lowered or else it won't look good
Just get the bolt pattern redrilled into a 5x112, just do some research on who does that around your area
    I have 20x8.5 et18 & 20x10 et32
    For tires go with a 225/30/20 & 245/30/20 or a 235/35/20

You can try a 255/30 but you might rub a bit in the rear

Wow thanks man I hope it works. Is there anyway to make it work without having to redrill them buy buying an adapter 5x120 to 5x112?

You can use adapters but that will make you offset lower which isn't something you want, since it'll make the wheels stick out which will have you rubbing the fenders.

Just sell the wheels. If you drill them, no one will ever buy them off you.

^ This. Get rid of them to get your money back and buy a set in the classifieds which you know will fit.

Always always do research first, lesson learned I hope. Like others above said, the bolt battern is wrong, our cars take the 112. Just do your best at selling them and get as much as you can back and do it right your next go around. Good luck!

Yea lesson learned, but I am not surprised I always do this. The wheels are on the way, I posted an local ad on craigslist so I hope someone buy them because I have no money to buy new wheels until I do.

Next time i will make sure I buy something from this forum or through a site that knows what will or will not work.

I appreciate all the help from you guys and not tearing me apart.

I have 3 wheels in mind, I'd like some input from you guys what you think.

Might I suggest going 19s instead of 20s? I personally think 19s look better on the A4. Out of those I'd get the Niche wheels.

Boom!!!! Have you also taken ride comfort/flat tire probability with the 20's? They look great, but can get pricey. Those 20" tires aren't cheap.

Those (or the classic INDs) would be my vote out of the 4 options, they look great on our car. I'd also go 18 or 19 rather than 20 inch wheels; the ride will be better and they suit the size of the car better.

Should be a 245/30/20 tire. The rolling diameter for 245/35/20 is almost out of spec from OEM. As for it being flush, I believe you might need a 5mm spacer. But might want to confirm with someone else just incase.

I am not sure what you mean by "245/35/20 is almost out of spec from OEM" is it gonna be bad if I run 35's instead of 30's?

To not screw up the quattro system and so your speedo is accurate, wheel rolling diameter should be within 3% to OEM. 245/35/20 is at something like 2.8%, while a 245/30/20 is less than 1% difference in rolling diameter compared to OEM spec. You can go to 1010 tire's website and calculate the difference in rolling diameter. OEM uses 245/40/18 or 255/35/19 for tires. You'll see that the 245/35/20 rolling diameter is too large, but the 245/30/20 is within spec.

    20X8.5

WOULD 235/35/20 /// 245/30/20 /// 235/30/20 work or what size would be recommended?

I would go 255/30/20 or even wider. You're gonna want more rubber to protect those rims. Not much wall on those 30 tires.

So even with the 20x8.5 I have to go with a 30 tire I can't go higher?

It will screw with the speedo if it's not within 3% of the original diameter. There's a calculator for it. My snow tires are 245/45/18, and I love the look for winter mode. Plus the extra height of the walls helps with the New aw gland pot holes. But it def wouldnt be a good look for a sport set up. You can probably even go 265.

I would drop it before slapping 20's on it. It will look weird with the wheel gap. Just my opinion though. But I'm sure most guys on the forum will back me on this.

You may even want to go with 19's after you with what the ride is like with the coils. The 20's will make the ride even harsher. Just some food for thought.
