2010 a4 b8 brake pad install? Caliper issue

Hey guys this is the first time I've worked on Audi brakes. I replaced brakes pads at least 5 times before. I watch one video on YouTube. And is stuck...the caliper won't come off. It took me an hour just to take the 2 21mm bolts off...because I didn't have a breaker bar available. I don't know what I'm doing wrong...can anyone help out?

You will need VAG-COM to release the parking brake.

I thought that was for the rear breakpads (correct me if I'm wrong). I'm doing the fronts first. Does having the parking brake on affect all four wheels or just the rears as well? Pardon me for my ignorance.

Sorry, I thought you were talking about the rear. The e-brake doesn't affect the front. There are only 2 bolts and pad sensor attached to the front calipers. Give it a whack with a rubber mallet.

I gave it multiple wacks. It moves up and down but won't left to right. Do you think it's the piston I have to push in?

Thanks for your help man. I ended up taking the caliper bolts off and pried it back and forth until the pads came loose.

Did my brakes earlier this year. Before you break the 21mm bolts loose it is a good idea to unscrew the brake fluid reservoir and then lightly pry something between the pad and the rotor. That is probably why it wouldn't let go. My guess is you had a lip on the rotor and the brake pads were hanging.
