Nice write up! Would you mind elaborating a bit more (wiring, cost etc). I'm interested in doing this mod. Thanks!

Awesome write up, but yes, please be more detailed on the DIY.

Also heres a vid i just found where masking tape was used from the outside to help with making clean holes.

No need for masking tape, drill from inside of bumper and you gonna have nice clean cut. I made mistake and my holes are rough around the edges. But best bet is to purchase hole puncher. I think is one of best $150 mods. And really easy to do on Saturday afternoon.

Could you post up the kit that you bought, like part number, I've been wanting to do this forever and love that it looks factory. How bad was that install? Looks fairly straight forward

I'm pretty sure they do not offer an oem option, it's gonna be a lot more than throwing 4 sensors into the bumper. When I got the car the $3200 nav package was not worth it to me

How exactly are these parts cheap? Always someone whom posts a useless comment like this...

How do these wire into the audio to actually alert you of your backup distance?

spending hundreds or possibly thousands on 2009 car? not in my book...total of less than $200 usc is no brainer and nice addition to premium plus version without nav option...and you could not tell if this things are factory or not! good bye...;)

Dont know how much it cost to justt get the rear sensor if you dont have anything from start but i paid less the then 200$ to get front sensors. That includes a new module.
Got sensors for free etc but there is a package for 300$ or something so it should be pretty much the same to get OEM.

Seriously ? Have you actually researched this ? You can find all the parts without the wiring on ebay for as much as 150$(second hand).

And get the harness from these guys http://www.carsystems.pl/audi-a4-b8-...dio,id976.html

You wont get to the "thousands" mark, thats for sure.

I paid around 200EUR for my rear sensors when I did the OEM retrofit on my old B8. There's even a DIY around here that I wrote with all the part numbers, etc.

Has anybody ordered from that website before? I would gladly spend a few more bucks for an OEM system. Or does anybody know of any US based companies that would offer a similar package?

IMHO this whole dispute about installing aftermarket sensors or go oem doesn't make any sense. I just posted few pictures to give an idea and that it could be done in your own backyard. What you wanna install is personal preference.

    Hi Guys,

If I went with OEM rear sensors from Audi, where do you put the module? Is that in the boot?

Is there a installation guide on this forum for oem rear sensor install with pictures? :) or even with words :)

i.e. where to place the buzzer and module and where to run the wiring?

I have VAGCOM cable and software so that is no problem.

I have rear LED lights if that matters B8 pre facelift

I have the radio concert audio system.

    Thanks,
    K.

Where did u get it from? If you get the cables from kufatec they provide you with a guide(atleast i did from my fronts)

The module is located at the right in the trunk and the buzzer you can pretty much put anywhere you want...

I have a RHD car. Is the module placement still going to be on the right hand side? Yeah I would like to see the guide first before buying to see if I will be able to install it by myself. If not I won't get it. But Kufatec won't send me the guide if I don't purchase. Just hope someone here have the instructions. I plan to buy the parts direct from Audi oem or eBay or carsystems.pl

Buy from carsystem. Best price(what i know) and you will get the instructions. If you buy direct from Audi you will be paying loads of cash!
The module will still be on the right side.

Its not hard to do this, i was scared myself before i did my fronts. And you can always ask for help.

I'm worried about the wiring. Did you drill your holes or hole punch?

Hoping someone has the instructions here :) So I can at least see what I am getting myself into :)

Can the install be done in a day? (Just for rear sensors)

Can it also be done in a day for front and back sensors (APS+)?
