Why not wrap it instead? Can be removed and wouldn't effect value of car, even considering how rare silver is...

nix the wrap, paint looks far better imho. and you have my vote. Gonna have to put up with people commenting on you driving a purple car though... not sure responding 'it's merlin pearl' is really gonna get you out of it either =P

and yes wrap is similar pricing

Wrap is way cheaper than a proper paint job, but I'd think removal would be a bitch considering you'd have to get all that adhesive off as well. I'd only consider a wrap if I had no intention of removing it.

wrap removal is pretty easy i'm told. there are dissolvants for it.

    very nice color!
if you can get the motor out, and do most,if not all, of the prep-work. you can get the cost of a paint job down a LOT!
the body shop will charge you labor for all of these things, removing an engine can take you 2-3 hours if you can DIY, or a body shop can charge you 10-15+hours of labor to remove it and put it back in once the job is done. the prep work is also a ton of labor that gets expensive.

you make their life easy by doing the hard part, and save yourself a ton of cash. send it in on a trailer and have them paint it properly. get it back and assemble :)
