    Is it ok to drive on 3 18's and 1 17's, just as a spare in case a tire blows out?

    it would as long as you realise/understand that you shouldn't be driving for miles and miles and that combo and that it's only a temporary measure... also make sure that your tires on both the 18s and the 17 are of the correct size... i.e. say your 18s are 235/40R18 and your 17 is 235/45R17...

    In my opinion, it should be ok.. because;
    1. some cars have like 13 or 14 inch spare wheel and tire for emergency use.
    2. i believe that the tire on 17inch wheel has bigger/thicker tire compare to the tire on 18inch wheel., which would be similar size with tires on them.
    Correct me if I'm wrong.

    As long as the rolling diameter is the same you will be fine.

    bad idea for any period of time. The resistance of the two wheels prob not the same. Same reason you dont drive around with unequal tyre pressures. May not be healthy for the fluid at the minimum.

    Like truth said, as long as the rolling diameters are the same you should be fine. Don't drive with it on there all the time, but even if you got all 17's it would be the same. The weight of the stock spare is going to be different than the other wheels, even if they're all the same size.

    Moral of the story is don't worry about it, but if it happens get it taken care of.
