Does the oil return line even use gaskets on the b5?

Just noticed there were no gaskets on return line on this car. This is the second one I've noticed. Do i need them?

A place between here and there

Yes, there is a gasket between pan and flange. You do need this, and not quite sure how the previous cars didn't leak with this missing.

You can always find cheaper, but this one is oem: https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/vw-...vag-058145757a

Edit: forgot about one mentioned below

Yeah there are gaskets. But I guess if you're not leaking then it's probably nbd.

Should definitely be gaskets between both the oil pan and turbo.

If it works it works. Word of advice, some common/cheap gaskets like these you may decide to always have 1-2 around even if you think you won't use them. Most of our gaskets relating to the turbo in any manner are nearly impossible to source locally, better to spend $20 on gaskets for future use than having your car down for a week while you order them.
