Anyone have one on order? Anyone know when these are due in? Anyone get any sort of deal on one? I am thinking about picking one up. My local dealer will let me reserve one at full MRSP, but didnt have any firm dates. Reading online I have heard "mid 2015", the dealer told me "Q3" but that seemed pretty late in the year to me. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!

Just talking to myself here... Before the tune, the TTS has some advantage over the TT

    TT
    220hp
    248 lb-ft
    5.3 second 0-60

    TTS
    292hp
    270 lb-ft
    4.6 seconds 0-60

    +72hp, +22lb-ft, -.7 second 0-60 (Car and Driver estimates)

However, with an APR tune its a different story... You actually get 8lb-ft more torque (with a flatter torque curve) with the TT, but the TTS still has +22hp.

    Audi TT

    Audi TTS

With a tune they are almost identical. These are from the A3/S3 which have the same motor as the TT/TTS

    TT - 305hp, 371lb-ft
    TTS - 334hp, 363lb-ft
    +29hp, -8lb-ft

    Hmmm....

I am on the waiting list, looking at delivery in October or November.

    This announcement came out today...

All-New 2016 TT Model Line Pricing Announcement

Audi of America is pleased to announce the introduction of the all-new, third generation MY2016 TT. The all-new TT combines styling cues reminiscent of the first generation TT, as well as combining the “R” DNA from the R8 and R18 race car, including vertical daytime running lights, the Audi rings relocated to the hood, and capless refueling. Under the all-aluminum body panels, the TT has been elevated dynamically through a new chassis and powertrain. The exterior has an aggressive stance and appearance while maintaining its evolutionary, iconic form. The interior is a revolutionary new, ultra-driver focused design, as represented by the absence of a center stack display. The result is a TT which is an exciting, pure, and authentic sports car.

The Audi TT will be available as a coupe and roadster and the TTS will be available as a coupe only. The coupe and roadster will feature a 2.0L TFSI® engine with 220 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque for a 0-60 time of 5.3 seconds (coupe) and 5.6 seconds (roadster). The Audi TTS Coupe will feature a 2.0L TFSI engine with 292 hp and 280 lb-ft of torque for a 0-60 time of 4.6 seconds. The TTS also comes standard with Audi magnetic ride (-10mm ride height) and large 13.3” front brakes with fixed 4-piston aluminum monobloc calipers.

All models are standard with Audi drive select and quattro® permanent all-wheel drive coupled to a 6-speed S tronic transmission. For the first time, the newly developed quattro® all-wheel drive system is controllable through Audi drive select, and when in Dynamic mode there is a rear wheel power bias. The system takes sensor readings 150 times every 10 milliseconds to adjust power distribution between the four tires for optimal handling and performance.

All Audi TT models come standard with an extensive and more comprehensive list of features and equipment compared with the outgoing model:
    Auto climate control
    Auto-dimming rearview mirror with compass
    MMI touch
Audi music interface with two USB ports and a 3.5mm aux in
    Audi drive select
    Audi advanced key
    Homelink®
Heated, 12-way power front sport seats (S sport seats with pneumatic side bolsters standard on TTS)
    Leather/Alcantara® interior
    LED interior lighting
    · 3-spoke flat bottom multifunction steering wheel with shift paddles

    18” wheels on TT/TTR
    19” wheels on TTS
    Rear acoustic parking sensors
    · LED taillights with dynamic turn signals

    · LED headlights

    · Spare tire and tool kit/car jack

The all-new Audi TT will be the first model to feature the innovative Audi virtual cockpit system. The Audi virtual cockpit reinvents the way a driver interacts with the vehicle, focusing all instrument cluster and MMI® actions into a single location yielding a stunning, all-digital, high definition visual experience. The combined instrument cluster features a 12.3-inch 1440x540 pixel TFT display with 3D graphics displayed with dazzling clarity.

The system is further supported with a quadcore Tegra 30 processor from the Tegra 3 series from NVIDIA. With a processing speed of over one gigahertz, the four-core chip can work together with a special 3D graphics program to perform more than eight billion computing operations per second. The graphics processor generates 60 frames per second, helping ensure the needles of the speedometer, rev counter and navigation are displayed with absolute precision and move naturally without any lag. Google Earth™ maps appear across the entire virtual cockpit and resolve nearly instantaneously when zooming in and out or when making menu selections. The Audi virtual cockpit will come standard on all TT models.

Optional features on the TT include:
Technology package – Audi MMI navigation plus, front/rear parking sensors with rearview camera, Audi connect®, Audi side assist, and auto-dimming, power folding exterior mirrors
    · Bang & Olufsen Surround Sound with a 680 watt amplifier powering 12 speakers

S sport seats (standard on TTS) with Fine Nappa leather and Diamond Stitching (includes neck level heating on roadster)
19” wheels with summer tires (standard TTS)
18” all-season tires (TT coupe and TT roadster only)
Audi design selection package (TT coupe and TT roadster only)
    Red brake calipers (TTS only)

Additional product information is available in the upcoming MY2016 Audi Order Guide and the soon to be released 2016 Audi TT/TTS Product Information Book.

The start of retail sales is expected to begin August. Finance and incentive details will be released closer to the sales start.

Lets talk about the 2018 TTRS instead ;)

that new TFSI engine is really top notch, its crazy how far 4 bangers have come. I got a ride in a tuned s3 the other day....the thing scoots, i mean its not a rocketship but for being a 4 cylinder i was very impressed, i'm sure it gives v8's a run for their money.

I got a call from my local dealer on Friday saying I could place an order. Cool! I said ok, let's do it. 5 hours later it turns out I CANT place an order. Boo. Now they are telling me the first batch will be "launch edition" cars, no customization....

The Haldex/Quattro system on the new TT is pretty sweet. Fourtitude stated, "is a completely new development especially for the TT". Its permanent AWD, which is a nice change from the last gen Haldex that was FWD when you let off the gas. In dynamic mode it can send 100% of the power to rear as well (the Golf R can only send 50%). In ECO mode you can switch it to FWD to save fuel. Plus it has torque vectoring now. Really trick setup.

Here is a video Audi put together in case you missed it:

Ya, the new TT/ TTS looks amazing, congrats on the order, that blue is gonna be awesome. I had a MK2 TTS and I loved it, very underrated in some ways. The MK2 had the Gen 4 Haldex, which was a huge step over the Gen 3 in Mk1. The new Gen 5 looks like it has some improvements over Gen 4 as well, but not entirely different from a performance perspective. The Gen 4 power distribution was really good in general. Either way, I love the new car, can't wait to see and drive one. Miss my MK2 TTS.

This vid is from Borg Warner, who makes Haldex. It is a little more detailed.

There is one thing everyone overlooks on the TTS, the new one and the MK2. The motor is totally different. On the new one, the motor is pretty much a different animal with only the displacement being the same. Forged internals, unique aluminum cylinder head, hollow exhaust valves, the turbo is upgraded obviously, lightweight pistons, bearings and crankcase are different along with an electronic waste gate etc. Amazing motor, really underrated car. It is going to be great. You can tune the TT, which is great, but the motor in the TTS has significant advantages over the base TT.

Great minds think alike! ;) let the long wait begin! Originally Audi's press release said the TT would arrive in August and the TTS in September. However they told me it would take 3 months to get the car after it enters production. It would need to be started right now to get here in September and I still don't have an allocation. Seems like things are delayed...

If you don't mind me asking, what sort of deal did you get? I somehow managed to get 6% off MSRP (without ACNA discount). I will also get the "Audi loyalty discount" on top of the 6%. My sales guy got let go after I placed my order, and I wasn't too keen to start over from scratch with a new sales guy. The dealership gave me a bit better deal than I think I normally would have gotten to make up for it.

Just out of curiosity I called the 2 Audi dealerships I hadn't spoke to yet just to see what they would say about TT availability. They both said the same thing... Q1 2016. Wtf? Plus the one guy said "Audi will sell more R8's than TT's so expect very limited availability". They said it was special order only and they don't expect to stock any for sale.

I spoke with the main ordering guy at the largest dealership in Colorado. He confirmed they get their allocation each month on or about the 12th. The next allocation update is thus July 12h.

He said the dealership did get ONE allocation for a TT Coupe. He said next month he expects one TTS allocation.

Why do so few people want this car? There is only one person in line behind me for the TTS. Do you think this car will have good or bad resale value? I can see it going either way.

I don't understand it either. But then don't really care as I know it's a great vehicle and will well enjoy it. And if I don't see any others on the road that's not necessarily a bad thing either. ;)

Just think, if we were in Great Britain we'd see them everywhere.

btw: a number of years ago I had a Mazda RX-8 and now an allroad. I guess I like being a bit different.

So now that the new order configurator is (Finally) up on the Audi website, I noticed a couple things...

1 - On the order guide there was no option for 20 inch wheels. However on the website configurator you can option the car with much nicer looking 20 inch wheels. I asked my sales guy and he said their system doesn't show any option for 20 inch wheels. He has to ask the Audi rep to make sure he can adjust my order.

2 - I guess I didn't realize but our car only has the option for the LED headlights, no option for the upgraded Matrix Headlights.

The blokes in the UK have these options:

I mistakenly thought we were getting the Matrix headlights:

But now with the configurator up I realized I mistook the "Matrix" for the "LED" lights.

My bad I guess on #2, but I am kind of bummed about that. That is the problem with ordering off a sheet of paper.

Hey Bob! Those new TT's look amazing! I'm sure you're gonna love yours! I'd hat to aesthetically mod a new car but how cool would it be to put a couple LED strips vertically in each fog grille to match the way the TT Clubsport looks. I think both headlights look equally as good though. I'm sure it won't bum you out at all once you're sitting behind the wheel of that awesome car

We cant have the Matrix lighting because of US DOT rules on headlights (1980's rule about separate high beam land low beam). They require committee review to make changes which takes a very long time and never keeps up with technology. Audi posted an story last week stating that it is finally getting reviewed. I would be surprised if it is approved before 2020. audi.us/AdaptiveLED

There are other items they get overseas that we cant have, for instance they can watch over the air tv on the virtual cockpit. You can see it in this video demo of the screen. https://youtu.be/0ROLhpEGTns?t=2m5s

Going from the Bi-Xenon on the 13 S4 to the full led on the S3 was awesome. You won't be disappointed with the lights in your TTS.

Why do so few people want this car? There is only one person in line behind me for the TTS. Do you think this car will have good or bad resale value? I can see it going either way.
Judging by the resale of the Mk1 and Mk2, it should have amazing resale value. I bought a used 2011 TTS 2 years ago with low miles, kind of overpaid for it, because it was the only one I could find. Sold it 1 year later for a few grand less. They are rare. Great choice btw, I can't wait to see one in person.

FYI, I am "postponing" my order for the spring. They were telling me at this point the best case scenario IF I got an allocation now (which I haven't) would be it arriving mid-October. The initial press release from Audi said July or August, far cry from their latest guess of "maybe Mid-October". I was planning on tracking the car and using it in nice weather, not driving in snow and salt coated roads. Kind of a bummer but it is what it is.

Unfortunate but very understandable. I'm going to hang in there as I've got a Winter beater and dedicated performance snow rims/tires for clear salt-less days.

That's too bad about the delay. Can't wait to see / drive one. Found this cool pic of the TT with VMR's. Looks really great. Might be lowered?

Thanks for posting the seats in Rotor Gray. Best picture I've seen to date (better than Configurator for sure).

Ya, the interior is amazing. Jeremy Clarkson tested it and thought it was the nicest interior other than a Bentley. He also thought it is one of the best Audi's made in a while; he loved it. I'm actually not a fan of his car expertise although a good comedian.
