I'm curious if there's been any recalls on the RS4, the 2007 in particular, if that matters.
I've got my 2007 RS4 for a few weeks now, and I'm trying to get up to speed on these cars.
Which ones have been honored by the dealer?
    TIA.

    DRC (suspension) and coilpacks.

Call a dealer with your VIN and they'll let you know the status; would be very surprised if you found one of these cars without the recall being performed.

    What's involved?
Would they replace the coil packs and the DRC system regarless whether it's working fine or not?

You guys don't know how lucky you are to get a full DRC recall, all we got in the UK was a "goodwill extension" of the warranty on DRC to 5 years or 75k miles (provided you had a FASH).

And Audi UK are now in full denial that the same leakage problem affects the B8 RS4, despite many owners repeatedly having it re-pressurised - they just get told "it's a characteristic of the system and is normal".

    And have never been happier

I actually just PM'd spoolbus as well and then ran into this site.. maybe spoolbus could confirm if this is valid or not..

Can we validate this somehow? If this works, then I think this site would definitely be a good candidate for sticky as well.

I've got a response from SpoolBus. Thank you so much!
The Coil Pack recall has been done, but not the DRC.
Now my question is, what actually triggered the recall?
My car drives fantastic, but I don't know anything about why the DRC has been recalled.
    Is this a must do?
What would they be replacing/fixing, etc...?
Your input as always will be greatly appreciated.

I remember reading a sticky on another forum about the DRC failure registry. People on the forum will chime in at what mile/how long they had the car when the DRC failed. It was a staggering amount, and the failure timing was all over the place from 100 miles to 50k miles and up. They also had the list of people chiming in for the registry as non-failures, and the list was much much smaller. I would say 20% non failure, 80% failure rate according to that registry.

The DRC failure was that the dampers would leak, slowly at first but get worse and if left too long the pressure in the DRC system would drop so low that the valve block became damaged (and that's >$1500 to replace).
The dampers were replaced with updated ones (often called Gen3) which seem to be much more reliable.

I've had two original factory dampers fail and be replaced under the Audi UK goodwill warranty, but have had to pay for the other two and the valve block when that failed just outside the period of the goodwill warranty.

The first signs of DRC failure are loose handling and knocking when going over bumps or ridges in the road.

Yours was done under warranty on 2010-09-01

Understand if your DRC was replaced under warranty (most were) it would not have shown up on recall.
