Ok. So i need a little help. I have a suspension damage on this A6, we replaced the spindle and all the control arms on the bottom and on top also. The wheel is still pushed back torwards the firewall about an inch. Any ideas what can cause this? We don't see nothing else bent on the car. Thanks the replies!

You sure the sub frame bolts and mounts are square? With enough force, the entire sub frame can move. Also may look to see if the aluminum upright is bent itself.

I havent looked underneath the car yet, i just let my mechanics work on it. I'll go down to the shop, bc nobody is there and i'll take a look at it myself. I had them replace the spindle, the 2 upper control arms, the 2 lower control arms. The only thing we haven't replace is the outter tie rod on the steering rack, but i doubt that would push it back. The passenger side wheels seems to be fine and it's sitting in the right place. I'll take some pictures today and post it. Thanks, for the tipps!

My moneys on the subframe shifted, I have a B6 that has this exact problem same side and all and I'm going to tackle it one day this weekend. I replaced the strut/strut top hat/spindle/all 4 control arms/steering rack and the drivers wheel is still about a half inch closer to the back of the fender than the passenger side.

Ok, i'm at the shop right now. When i jacked the car it seems like the subframe is pushed back 1/8 of an inch, but my wheel looks like 1,5 inch to the back... i'll upload the pics to the computer and post them in a minute

So i measured everything on the subframe, and it seems to be fine and it should sit in its place. But when i measured front wheel center to rear wheel center my driver side number was 1,5" shorter than the passenger side. The only things we haven't replaced yet are, strut, axle and tie rod. Everything else is brand new. I haven't done the alignment yet, but i doubt the alignment will move the wheel 1,5" forward... i'm waiting for somebody smarter than i'm to tell me what to look at..

The car being in a accident makes this much more complicated. Im assuming thats what has happened because of the bumper?
