    Another Failed A/C G395 Sensor

We had our 2009 A4 in to the local dealer (Audi Sylvania) back in December (2014) to replace engine piston & rings due the engine oil consumption problem under warranty. Since then, we haven't needed to the run the A/C, until last week, when the compressor didn't engage with the A/C control set to "on" at 99,900 miles.

Brought the car back to the local dealer this afternoon to have it looked at. It turns out that sensor G395 (4H0-959-126-A) had failed over the winter; 90 minutes & $290 later, the A/C in our A4 was working again. See TSB # 2020124 (Air Conditioning Inoperative) for more info.

For whats its worth my AC sensor (high pressure switch) failed at 8 months old in my 2013 Q5 with 2.0T.
The dealer first asked me if I had hit anything, like a curb, to cause a loss of high pressure.
A short while later they discovered it was the bad sensor which is apparently a very common failure, even at 8 months old.
    The eventual supremacy of reason.

I looked thru the TSB and it mentions only using the improved part listed as 4H0-959-126B. It might be worth keeping that receipt with that part number if something happens to it again.

Yes it is common. 15mths into my lease and my a/c sensor went. I made an appointment, dropped the car off and it was done in an hour, covered under warranty but it is a simple fix and easy to get to. The sensor itself isnt expensive.
