As far as I know it has it, I read somewhere here it can be turned to 0 using VCDS, but haven't seen a DIY on the coding yet. I need to go in and look around but did not have time this weekend.

Still have the one I took out of my MK6 GTI, makes a great paperweight.

The S3 has a soundaktor same as the Golf R and it can be reduced with VCDS. However I chose not to do mine as it's noticeably quieter than a Golf R I tested before I got my car.

Personally, quieter or not, it's still fake and it bugs me.

I LIKE a calm comfortable cabin....when I want it. This is the reason we have these sound devices in our high performance and sport cars. Because they make the cabins so quiet you can't hear the exhaust note. People are like "I want to hear my high performance car!", of course they also want to be able to carry on a conversation on occasion.

So the fake noise generators are the solution.

However, when I want to hear the exhaust I just open the roof and windows and enjoy. But the fake sound makers ruin the real sound, especially if you upgrade the exhaust, it can interfere or cause a feedback that is unpleasant when coupled with a non OEM sound note from an exhaust system.

Frankly, these things should be optional for those that want them.

Pretty sure we'll disable my sound today. If we do, I'll post impressions.

That isn't always an option for some folks. That thing called winter. :) What do folks like us do during that long 5 month period?
