What loaner car are you given when in for warranty service?

I'm curious because my 2012 has been in several times and I get a base model A3 every time (first world problems I guess??)...

typically a Q5 up here in NE, but they sell more Q5's than anything around here, so good advertising I guess - got an A3 once also.

I have had A4, Q5 most of the times. But one time they gave me a rental from Enterprise, that I only drove for 20 minutes before I called them back to tell them that car (Hyundai Accent) was unacceptable because it felt very unsafe. I was told to bring it back and another car (A4) will be available soon for me. Be friendly with your service department and they will take care of you in that regard.

If I'm lucky I get an Audi (typically A3 or A6 2.0). If I'm not I get a piece of crap Enterprise rental car. Same for regular service as warranty at the local dealer that consistently provides any loaner car at all. The dealer where I bought my S4 and wife's Q5 if very stingy with loaners, which pisses me off.

That sucks! You'd think they would treat you better since you bought two cars from them.

First car was a 2013 A6 with the 2.0T.
Second car was a 2012 A5 with the 2.0T.

I call in the day before and usually say I've got customers that I'll need to shuttle around, and expect a bigger car than the A3 which is typical in my area.

Believe it or not 3 cars. The first one, an A6, was in an accident so I traded it in towards my S4.

First time was an a6 tdi.

Second time I told him I was interested in an s6 so they let me take one for 2 days. What a blast to drive!

Not really "warranty" work, but when we got the S4 it needed a software update for the airbag, scheduled it for a couple weeks out to do the second delivery (not really needed, but required for the dealership) at the same time.

They let me drop it off the night before and got me a loaner, just for a software flash.

I requested an R8 loaner

, but ended up getting a Q3.

I am sure they are nice cars for those that like that sort of thing, Americans sure love to snap up those boxy compact SUVs for some reason. It was fine for an overnight and a day until we got the S4 back, but I don't know how people buy and live with those things. LOL

It's always different. Q5, A4, A6....last time I got an S4 but I doubt that will happen again.

My first trip to the dealer for warranty work they loaned me a 2015 Q7 with parking+side assist. nice vehicle but its a boat compared to my q5.

I got a Q7 before when I brought in my 2003 A4, it felt like a nice upgrade to drive around in.

Then I got an 2014 A4 Allroad when I had my S4 in just a few weeks ago - it was alright :P

Not for warranty, but I've brought in my Q5 for AudiCare service over the years. I've gotten an S4 a couple times...that's how I fell in love with it and went out and got my own.

Have also gotten A3 TDI avant, A3 TDI '15, A6, A7 (fully-loaded with sticker in the 90's...it was in the glove compartment) and a Chevy rental one time as they ran out of loaners.

Till now i have got A3, A4, A5 and A6, everything with less miles on the clock. Once, dealer was even willing to give me a loaner for more than 2 weeks as my insurance company was delaying to approve a claim. I did not buy my car from them but till now i have not been denied a loaner anytime, really impressed with their policy.

I have had a4s, a6s, q5, and a Q7. I did once request an a4 avant as well. Got it and was disappointed. I would like to see it however with a tune and suspension mods.

When I use to service my car at the dealership I bought it from (86 miles away) they sent me a 2013 A6 2.0t. Which ironically I got my first ever speeding ticket.... Now I bring my car to service at a closer dealer.

LOL how did the car feel unsafe? kind of an unreasonable claim i understand noone wants to drive a hyundai but lets keep things in perspective here...

I was given a Q7 3.0T the first time and an A8L 3.0T the second time. I set up my service appointments through my salesman who is also the dealer manager....... he makes sure I'm well taken care of when I come in. It also helps that I have sent him 3 other customers in the past 12 months!!!!
