Rick did my xpel, opticoat, and does all of my detailing. He is awesome, wouldn't go anywhere else. I'd drive the extra miles if I were you.

Random question: Are Automotive Elegance and Unique Car Care the same company? I called Auto Elegance for an Xpel clear-bra quote and just realized Rick (at UCC based on the phone number) called me back and they are at the same address ha!

I am probably going with the Xpel clear bra, but any thoughts on Opticoat too? Based on reviews, Opticoat seems to be awesome for about a year, and then sort of loses its efficacy.

Not sure if they're the same. Rick did just move from wakefield to stoneham into a bigger facility, maybe it was a merger or something?

I got my car opticoated last year when I got my spring detail. It does seem as though water isn't beading up as much now. I'll ask Rick what he thinks when I bring it in for this years full detail and get it reapplied if it's worn off.

Thanks for the feedback about Opti Coat. I checked their website and there is a five-year warranty against "failure", but nothing specific as per what that actually means. I would be more inclined to do it if that means it is reapplied at no cost when water stops beading up.

Maybe UCC operates inside Automotive Elegance as an independent contractor? I am probably going up tomorrow morning to check out the Xpel clear bras since I pick up my car this weekend.
