    Clutch replacement cost?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
My stock clutch had been out us way out for a while now. I bought the jhm single mass lightweight clutch kit a few months ago. Lookin to get the clutch installed pretty soon as I am tired of my currently slipping clutch. I was quoted 650 out the door to get it replaced. Just wanted to get some opinions on that price. I thought it was pretty reasonable, but I'm not sure how difficult a clutch job on these cars are. Car is a 2005.5 a4 2.0t quattro btw.

Imo, that's a decent rate. I paid ~$800 at a high priced shop. (Over $100/hr)

Not sure what their labor rate is. I'll have to check. Jake is everything needed to replace the clutch in the stage 1 kit that I purchased from you guys? (besides fluid I guess) I shouldn't need anymore hardware right?

Sounds like a pretty good price to me. I was recently quoted $750 for a B8 S4 clutch job from a very reputable Audi shop (I assume the process is basically the same)

Please note this is beaver currenty, in murican dollars that's 300$usd for the 400$cdn or 210$ for the 280$cdn.

For once we have something going for us here lol

That is crazy cheap. In America, they go by "the book " whatever the fuck "the book" is. If this "book" says it takes 8 hrs to do a job, they charge 8 hrs even if it takes only 4. Then they also charge you "shop fees" and "miscellaneous".

Yeah, I did mine somewhere around 100k. Make sure if you live where it gets cold to match your fluid to winter conditions. I wish I had gone with better cold weather fluid.

Yep, that's what I got. I think that's mostly what is making it so hard to shift into reverse or 1st this winter.

I have the Motul 300 as well but have changed the fluid 3 times and the second time a did the Motul it has been much better in the cold. I change the Motul now every 75k when I do the timing belt kit. Very shortly will beasiest the 4th kit.
