Which is faster, Stage 2+ A3 or B5 A4 Frankenturbo?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Never seen this comparison anywhere online, my brother just bought an A3 and is already talking shit, saying it'll smoke my A4 Frankenturbo once he gets his A3 tuned. Just wondering if it's possible...lol

    apr is claiming 291 whp.
that would lead me to believe that the a3 is faster.
    FT is 240whp max

Apr doesn't give whp they give crank power. And no way a 2.0t is putting 290 to the wheels without a bigger turbo.

Depends on your version of a "Stage 2" and what model year A3.

The stage 2 in that thread is the newest generation A3. You'd never be able to touch that thing.

EDIT: Stage 1 software WHP numbers (this is only a tune): http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthrea...-GTI-Worldwide!

Sup Ray, how's the 2871r treating you? I might go that route now..lol. Well, as for my brother, the DSG is pretty fast and APR claims crank HP.

His is the 8p, not the newest model. He's got the DSG though.

    Hello there.
It's treating me well. Picked up a 2.0 block/rotating assembly so that will be going in before April. Should be perfect for what I am looking for.

I love the A3 btw. It's basically the same size as the b5 which I find to be perfect.

edit: nevermind i don't really remember.

I've driven both a Stage 2 B7 A4 and a FT F4H-L B5 A4 and B5 passat (awd). I'm fairly certain the B7 was quicker. I'm also pretty sure the K03 in the FSI is about the same size as the K04-015.

How does the A3 2.0 compare to the new Audi tt 2.0? Because that is listed with 400 bhp running 26psi per the front page of Audizine a whiles back.

    Bingo...
IIRC both compressor and turbines are 'larger'. Not all K04s are the same, just like not all K03s are the same. Also, the new 2.0T is a much more efficient engine at making power/torque due to the Direct Injection. My brother in-law's '06 Jetta with APR ECU will pull over 200g/sec through the MAF. That's *strong* 1.8T K04 numbers...and he's still on the OE K03.
