can someone please confirm the size of the big nut on the inner tie rod ?

I have found posts saying 33mm and 38mm.

Not the 18mm but...the BIG one the "ball joint" on the inner tie rod goes into.

I want to buy the right wrench on the way home tomorrow as the biggest wrench I have is 24mm.

I think I used an adjustable wrench when I did my tie rods too. If I remember correctly it broke loose rather easy. I mean it took some force but nothing extreme.

So no one knows the exact size?

I would like a sized wrench over a adjustable wrench, but I will buy a adjustable wrench if I have to.

Does that nut fit on any of these? Sorry for my confusion, working nights and am not thinking clearly. For what's it's worth I checked my tool box and the biggest socket I have purchased separately is a 32mm, not 100% sure if it's for what you need or some other odd job from the past.

No he's going for the inner tie rod so a socket isn't going to work. He needs an open end wrench. OP you can also run by a local parts store and rent a tie rod kit that is specifically meant for doing tie rod jobs. You pay for the tool up front and get a full refund when you return it. This kit has 30, 34 and 36 so it's most likely one of those sizes.

Ah, you are correct sir. When I did mine I rented the kit as well when I did my tie rods.

FWIW, I ran to Autozone and Advance Auto when doing my tie rods and neither had a tool for rent that was capable of doing what I needed.

I had to cut my tie rods in half with a sawzall to get the rented tool to work.

SlickFix did this write up on tie rod replacement. Click It looks like to remove the outer tie rod he uses an 18mm box wrench and for the inner tie rod he uses the 38.4 adapter that comes in the kit. Thats the write up I followed when I did my outer tie rods. I could imagine finding a 38mm box wrench might get sort of expensive. I'd try and find the rental kit if possible. Maybe call around to a couple local parts stores.
