    marc aka tenseconds4 or whatever. That seems like along time ago.
    Plus his car weighed in at 2,700lbs. So he had a pretty nice advantage.
    I'd still like to see a tial or GT car hit the strip at that weight. Mine won't
    even weigh under 2,900-3,000lbs.

    i'd say the cars similarities end at both being AWD, the audi was never meant to be a supercar it was a performance sedan you could use year round, the GTR has always been Japans answer to the European heavyweights with the original GTR having the fastest Nuremberg lap time in its day.

    I like that my audi keeps a relativity low profile especially with todays supercops who are itching to write you a ticket for anything.

    my dilemma:

    Audi Lack answering my needs like the GTR does,

    i did sacrifice a bit of comfort and finishing quality against pure performance.

    Nothing in the Audi lineup suits my needs, I would have to swap but i cant anymore, to tired of projects...

    My Ideal DD Audi would be a 2014 RS5 with 4.0T (RS7) powertrain.
    For me the the RS7 is not the definition of a sexy car... Yes it looks good on paper but not in real life.

    My car hast to be a 2 door, 4 seats twin clutch 700 hp minimum awd monster...

    The only other car would be a PDK 911, but space for kids and trunk is ridiculous.

    I agree, from the front the RS7 is gorgeous. From the back, not so much. In my eyes, it's like Audi kind of gave up when they got to back and said that'll do.

    Yeah, nothing about the b5 s4 looks or is better than the GTR (just my personal opinion, flame suit on) Obviously it is a mute argument due to two completely different genres and vast improvements in technology over the time frame. An R8 on the other hand may be a more fair comparison. I personally love the GTR. I would prefer an R34 over it but thats for another topic lol.

    I am still a ways off from completing my transmission swaps but I will be making a odd combo of parts that might end up being a decent drag audi along the way. I have 3 cars so follow me here. I have a stripped audi A8L that I race road course with. It will be getting the transmission from my manual A6 t.7t and the 5hp24 from my A8 will get upgraded clutches and will be going in my S4 and depending on how tight the trans tunnel is on the S4 which if my measurements are correct the answer is extremely tight I will have a hood exhaust and the PT67 from my camaro will end up on my s4. Run low boost until I have the ambition to build the engine. The 5hp24 with a big stall should handle any power the 2.7 is going to make with proper software. On a stock engine I am confident I can reach low 12's. The tall gearing are going to take a lot of power to pull good times but it looks like there is a gear combo to alter the final drive on the 5hp24 to change the final drive to 4:11. I just have to find all the pieces.

    The o1e is a horrible drag transmission. The gearing is all wrong for a big power engine. My swap might be faster but i dont think i will see 10s on a stock botttom end realistically. Possibly 11s but who knows

    Not even reports their times on Audizine, or wants to boast about 10 second times. I know of two local Boston S4's that have gone 10's, full weight. @Guruman I have seen your car, I'm sure Dave will get it running and hit some good times (hopefully)

    Georges VR6 car will have the power to run a 10 too.

    Somedude the 01e trans has gone mid 8's.
    Auto audi trans records 12's lol. There's a reason
    people with the beefier one in the rs6 swap
    to an 01e when going with bigger turbos.
    That trans quits at 500whp. You're wasting
    your time dude. You can get a dog box set
    for the 01E in any gearing you'd like. Talk to
    scotty or PAR.

    these are the same conversations I had when I decided to be the first person to turbo a automatic taurus SHO back in the day. I had the 1/4 mile record for 3 years... I don't have the budget to come anywhere near how fast you guys are running in this platfom, but I think the 5hp24 will do just fine. I have been lurking on the RS6 boards for years and those transmissions hold up to a lot of tq. I am not worried about it failing at the power levels I will be running. I want gears that are a bit longer in my S4 so I can load a big turbo better through first gear which the 5hp24 will do. I never said the 01E will not handle the power. I just feel that the gearing is way too short when you are making a lot of power. Just one mans opinion. I would love a dog box but I cannot drop that kind of money into a toy at this point in my life. The 5hp24 swap will be pretty straight forward as long as that fat bitch fits in the trans tunnel.

    I have often wondered why more people don't do that. Is it a clutch issue, a gear breakage issue or most people just don't think about it. I always assumed it would take one hell of a clutch to manage a second gear launch properly.

    mods lol. All of them seem legit as far as the b5
    s4 community goes. I was just listing people
    I was aware of that ran 10's with a b5 s4 & 2.7t
    combo. I didn't mean anything by it Jupiter. I
    also was not implying I could do better.

    @somedude the 8p s3 from Greece with
    a vrt swap and stock 01e according to them
    launches in 2nd. They ran an 8.8 quarter mile.
