New ABS sensor, still no fix?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
So I had this code; 00287 - ABS Wheel Speed Sensor; Rear Right (G44)

I went ahead and ordered an OEM replacement sensor and installed it yesterday and when I went to try and clear the codes with VCDS it won't clear. I tried driving it for a while but that didn't do much. My ABS codes are still there.

I tried logging the speeds on each wheel speed sensor and my rear right sensor isn't picking up anything, while the others were picking up the speed just fine.

The only idea I have now is that perhaps maybe the new ABS sensor I bought isn't working correctly. I am bummed out, I don't know what to do now. Anyone has any ideas?

Check if the ring from your axle didnt come off and got stuck - i went thru that with my car, the ring that sits on the axle broke off the axle and got stuck - so it wasnt spinning when axle was - thats why it wasnt working, what the rest of the code says ? bad signal ?

If you clear the code and it immediately comes back without even driving the car...good chance there is an issue with your ABS module/computer.

Lucca, I will go look at it and hope it's the same issue you have.

Wolf, that would suck if I had to replace my abs module.

    thanks all

Check the ohm rating of the new ABS sensor vs. the others. Just unplug by wheel and check with vol ohm meter. If that's ok check at connection to module to check wiring.

It's been too cold for me to work on the car. In the negatives and windy, I'll wait until the weather warms a little. I do not have a garage apparently.

Not sure for an Audi, but my Jetta (according to the Bentley manual) was 1000 to 1300 ohms. Should be similar. Check all 4. If one is different that one is probably bad.
