S Line Suspension VS Non S Line

I haven't been able to found specs and differences on the suspension, what is the ride difference? Are the springs different? I know the color and part numbers are different on the shocks and struts but that's as far as I know(I understand color is not the only difference but I have no data on them). My car came with Koni Coil Overs (Previous owner) which are blown and I have a S Line car I was wondering if the sports suspension is like or close to a Springs and shocks set up. Any pictures of the difference or info will be greatly appreciated.

I went from OEM sport suspension to PSS9 coils. Its a harsher ride, for sure, but I love the stance and the cornering performance. Basic OEM to OEM Sport will see a drop of maybe an inch or so, and a bit tighter cornering. If your car was nicely dropped on Koni, the OEM sport suspension will be higher and you will notice the extra gap. I think I dropped around an inch going from Sport to PSS9. Overall, if you are used to Koni, I would not go back to OEM basic. Either stick with a cheap coiler (Koni or ST), a shock/spring setup, or OEM sport (maybe the most expansive of these options).

Audi stated that OEM sport suspension is 30% stiffer than OEM non sport. As stated above, the drop is about an inch. I was able to slip 4 fingers in the rear of non sport and barely 2 in sport. It was tight.

If im not mistaking the sport suspension upgrade also comes with a 18mm rear sway bar instead of the 16mm.

My '08 is "s-line" but just in appearance, so for most of it's life, I lived with non sport suspension. The above posters are correct that its a combo of springs/shocks and bigger sway bar that makes it sport suspension. I recently upgraded to OEM sport suspension and its a huge improvement - you can definitely feel the 30% stiffness improvement.

Where can you get the s-line suspension? I checked ECS for my A4 but they didn't show up under suspension like other s-line products would if they fit? I would assume it's a direct fit? Also how much would the s-line suspension cost against something like H&R with about the same drop? for the kind of driving I don't need a super aggressive drop.

H&R or Eibach are not much lower than the sport suspension.

Don't know if you can buy new (maybe from Audi), but you can find a used set-up super cheap from someone upgrading to coilovers. I found a set-up locally and paid $50 for shocks/springs. I live in a city with a ton of bad roads so its the perfect drop for me. FYI, although its cheap to pick the parts up, you'll have to pay a bunch more in labor to swap out if you can't do DIY - our suspension requires the removal of a bunch of other parts.

Dont waste your money on s line springs. The ride is too crashy. H&R sports are a much better spring. As far as shocks its up to you. Im keeping my sports shocks as they will work with h&r sports. Bilstien and koni both ride well. Anyone who tells you that lowering the car will ruin the ride quality knows nothing. As long as the suspension is set up correctly it will ride perfectly and sometimes better than oem.

I have an s line and when on the highway it is fine but as soon as the road gets a bit bumpy the ride gets a bit rough or crashy if you will. The sports shocks are S4 shocks making them over dampened for our lighter/ higher riding cars. If paired with a good progressive spring they are much better. Plus the s line springs ride just a tad too high for my personal taste.

What would be a good spring/shocks combo you recommend people to get?

Imo the best combo is H&R sport coupled with Bilstein Sport.

How is that suspension with the wheels? Do the wheels rub?

Those are oem wheels in 17x7.5 ET45, I never even come close to rubbing. On my summer setup neither btw which is 18x8 ET29. Both on 235 oem tire specs.

The ride height is a tad lower than the sport suspension.

Thank you for the recommendation. How are the spring rates of the h&r compare to the sline or even eibach?

I dont know the specs of the spring rate of h&r vs sport springs but they're a tad lower while they are as confortable.
