    RS7 side skirts on a S7

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Picking up a S7 this weekend. Im thinking the RS7 side skirts are different, and looks a lot more aggressive.
Is it as simple as just getting the side skirts on the S7? or is it more involved?

    Thanks for the input!

Subscribed. I recall seeing a set of side skirts on one of the aftermarket websites, cannot remember which one.

We have looked into it before - The RS7 Side Skirts should just bolt right on-to the S7 without any problems HOWEVER we have yet to try it here in house.....

Should not be an issue since the RS7 front and rear fenders are the same as the S7/S6.

The skirts are not the same. To match the RS7 bumpers the side skirts were changed as well.

As mentioned above with the link they are available as a kit and they do fit the A7 and S7 models.

I have looked into this before . In theory they should fit with no problem, might need to use different mounting points which should come with the kit as Alex mentioned. But...... The rs7 skirts flare out . Not sure how that would look with the s bumpers .... But give it a try so I know

print out the schematics of both skirts and cross reference the bolts and brackets used and see if the part numbers matched. That is what I did with the 2016 rear conversion.

    Good luck.

Side skirts are obviously different on the RS7 then the S7, but since they both share same front and rear fenders it should not require a great deal of fabrication since your start/end points in theory both front and rear should be the same. Cheers

Trying to fit RS6 side skirts onto an S6 would never work since RS6 fenders are much wider then even the RS7. Cheers

Thanks to lv2000, I ended up buying the ebay RS7 skirts. Should have them in hand in a week or so and will report back here on fitment. I'll try to mount them first before refinish and paint.

As others mentioned, Audi parts shows an exploded diagram with misc. mounting hardware, seems like this should work from quick eyeball.

The covers for the jacking points for the skirts are also different for the RS7. Just keep that in mind when installing.

^Thanks for the heads up Alex. If I try a DIY, guess it will be with the ramps instead of a jack.

Here is a parts link, not sure if it will show up properly.

Take a rear profile pic with the skirts in place. Curious on the look.... My new facelift rear actually matches the s7 skirts better than the original. But I love the flare of the rs7 skirts. I think I just need to stop lol

The RS7 skirts arrived and look like a green light. They are not as visually impactful as the front and rear diffusers or facelifts, but they should provide some good aesthetic punch up especially with an aggressive wheelset.

They have 20+ clips each, three different types, to attach to the undercarriage, plus it looks like 3M tape would help on the upper trim to keep it flush fit to the rear fender and body. The plastic material is similar to a front or rear fascia/bumper and flexes slightly.

RS7 version adds a bit wider and taller flare, particularly under the B pillar between the doors where it bows out vs. the S7 skirt which is largely a straight line from fore to aft. The RS7 bulge is also taller top to bottom and a bit more rounded than the S7 skirt.

It also appears to have the proper cutouts for the jackpoints, not sure whether or not these will fit the jackpoint covers.

Going to get these finished and painted then update the thread for fitment. Thanks all.

Are these actual OEM pieces and where did you purchase them from?

Would you say that the rs7 skirts are lower than the flow of the s7 front bumper

These are used Nardo Grey and happened to have come from an ebay listing - thanks again to lv200 for the heads up. Yes, these do look like they would lower the hemline on the skirts, I'll eyeball it further tonight as perhaps the additional height goes up the doors vs down to the street. They also look like a stand alone upgrade that does not need front and rear "matching" bumper upgrades to create a nice outcome. Me thinks you should finish your great rig with a set of these RS7 skirts and the Tag blacked out badges.

Cool, would love to hear and see the clips/plugs that come in your new kit. I hate the little buggers, they have cause me more bloody knuckles than any other car parts.

Great ......looking forward to seeing them on the car.... I may jump on this as well.

I would also like to see how they match up with the wheelwells

If someone made a decent looking lip ... that would flow real nice with the side skirts

The jack point covers are unique to the RS7 skirts. They are actually quite expensive as an addition to the skirts (Retail for $1360!): http://europrice.us/side-skirts-rs7

The RS7 skirts are matched to the RS7 front and rear bumpers. The RS7 bumpers are a bit lower and flare outwards at the ends.

The RS7 skirts came out beautifully. They definitely flare out say +10mm or more. RS7 drivers must have large cajones, and therefore walk bowlegged, which allows them to more easily enter and exit the vehicle with these flared skirts.

The only gaps are inside the bottom of each wheel well. I'll just cut some small triangular black plastic sheet material to keep muck out of the skirts. Otherwise, the RS7 wheel liners are another $180 per corner. Per Alex's note above, I'll also likely buy the RS7 jackpoint covers for the same reason, just to cut down on taking on dirt and road gunk.

These are quick shots, I'll take better before and after comparisons later.

Thanks gents. Ian, I'll measure the length of the stockers between the wheels to see if they might be close enough. I would imagine even so that the damn clips may be different, not sure.

It's amazing how a relatively subtle change had such a dramatic impact on your car's appearance. Great job and it looks great.

Skirts are 7' in length measured from the bottom in between the wheels. Happy to lend the stockers to any S6'r who wants to attempt a fitment first.

I will get down there and measure in just a few minutes to see what the S6 is.

What do you think Spiro, you have probably done the most body modding on the S6. You think the RS7 side skirts will go on the S6? Are you planning to change them out?
