I just installed a JVC double din head unit and want to hook up siriusXM to it. I know the car is set up to readily accept satellite radio, but is it possible to use the same hookups for an aftermarket head unit?

    Thanks!!

For the head unit I use there is no hook up. Just use the phone app if you have unlimited data and plug it in.

    No unlimited data :(
My HU is siriusXM ready but the hookup is different from what's available behind the radio

Then you need a new SiriusXM cable. You post doesn't make much sense. You radio is SiriusXM ready but your radio doesn't have the wire?

The car has a wire and hookup that ties into the back of the stock HU. My new head unit is SiriusXm ready, but the connections are different

if your aftermarket HU is sirius XM ready, then you need the add on tuner. You could put this in the trunk where the oem tuner is/was and use the factory antenna, that's what I would do.
The aftermarket HU won't talk to the audi tuner or use the existing wiring to the trunk easily. I mean, you could probably cut the harness off at the back of the OEM HU and splice the aftermarket cable and do the same at the other end, but to me it's just easier to tuck the wire up to the headunit.
    this is what you need

Ok, so new tuner and wire to the head unit, but I can use the existing antenna? That's mostly what I want to do, is to use the existing antenna

Yes. worst case you need an adapter depending on how old your car is and if you have a two wire or one wire antenna.

An adapter seems like a better option that cutting a splicing.

what? No one would cut and splice an antenna cable nor was it suggested.
