Anybody running Lionhart, Lizetti, Accelera, Achilles tires?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
These are budget tires, but I'm wondering whether anyone is running or has run these tires and if so, would you recommend these?

I have heard not to cheap out on tires, but I've been seeing a lot of LionHart recently along with Accelera so I'm wondering whether they are a new tire that really doesn't have a reputation yet.

    Thanks guys,

I have never even heard of them. I am in that school of thought not to cheap out on tires. They are your car's only point of contact with the road. I am sure if you shop around you can find a deal on a decent/good/great brand.

I got an amazing deal on pirelli (winters) from tirerack. On sale plus a 70 dollar rebate. They are always my first place to check when I need tires

I have my 19x9 peelers as a secondary option and I want to wrap them with something not too expensive so that I can swap wheels when I feel like it.

I've never used these brands but I've bought cars with budget tires on them before. They're ok (not great) in good weather but they suck in the rain and slide all over the place in the snow. I replaced them almost immediately in both cases.

Ive driven a customers car with LionHart tires. They came in complaining about noise coming from the wheels. It was the tires. Usually budget tires are loud, ride harshly, bubble easily, have stiff sidewalls, and have poor on road fee (Braking is affected too)l. You can get a set of 750/800 dollar tires. Believe me, spend extra on a decent tire, its among the most important things on your car.

The only "cheap" tires I ever used where Eldorado Tires, these are Cooper tires private brand and are made by Sumitomo. The tires I had where the Velozza VXZ and for the money they where awesome. The only way I found out about them was from my local tire shop who said they really worked well. The 255/35/19 was $96.

I'd opt for at least hankooks as previously mentioned, or some falkens.

Here you go. All i did was enter "tire loft" on google or amazon.

Check out some of the customer's images and you'll find a few Audi owners posting their wheels on these racks.

    Thanks guys,
If you're looking for some decent budget tires, try out the Velozza ZXV tires. I've had them for about a week and so far no complaints. Stiffer sidewall and less grippy that the Pzeros I had on prior. Half the price but they hold their own.

Chinese cheapo made tires are the worse. Lowest I run on any of my cars is Hankooks which have bad sidewall issues, but even then I would rather spend $30 more on each tire to get Michelins. My family is too important to rely on something questionable.

Besides, why spend $2k+ on rims if you can't afford a decent set of tires? I find it funny when people buy something like ADV's and they have Accelera tires on them, which is $2-300 a set. Thats like buying Brembo's and then buying some $200 set of brake pads. You are wasting money, let alone testing death.

“Chinese-branded tires are a whole different world,” reported Car and Driver technical director Dave VanderWerp. “You absolutely get what you pay for, which, as we found in our test, is capability that is nothing short of scary."

Lizetti is garbage, my car was slipping so much in the rain, and it rains pretty hard in Florida... I couldn't drive past 55/60 mph because i would lose control of the car... check discounttiredirect, got some 19 falkens...much better

I run yokohama advan sports on my 19 VMR's. Went from Continental DW to the yokohama to save a few bucks. They are pretty big in the mini cooper world (my old ride) and so far so good. Price wise they are right around what the Hankook's cost.

I actually ended up getting a set of 235/35/19 Lionhart LH-Four Tires for my peelers and have no complaints. I got them from one of our very own wheel vendors (GetYourWheels) for $100 each tire plus tax (9% in CA). They look and run good. I live in Sunny So Cal, so not much rain here.

By the way, Lionhart tires are a Japanese tire, not Chinese.

I went "cheap" on a set of tires a few years back that were getting raves from the Subie Auto-X guys about how awesome they were. I had two of them blow out int he first 6 months.
On one of them, the tread completely separated from the belt.

    Never again.

Am on my 3rd set of Hankook Ventus V12 Evos. Have done track days on them, have taken them to the snow and rain. They last 10,000 miles longer than the Pirellis p-zero rossos that came on the car and are significantly cheaper. When this set is done, i'll move to their replacement, the Evo 2. Can't beat them for $189 each.

Out of all the budget brands out there - these are the ONLY ones worth rolling:

    1) Lexani(made by NEXEN)
    2) Achilles
    3) Accellera

I have Acceleras on my car and they are great, I also have Lionharts on my other car also those are great tires. What is funny is that Kuhmo use to be a budget brand tire back in the days. The acceleras are actually raising their prices since last year maybe they are becoming a better brand name.

My lionharts are noisy, but it's only audible when I'm slowing down to a halt.

Lionhart LH Eleven 285/35/22 were VERY good tires. I went from Scorpions to Lionheart and now I'm back on Scorpions and the Lionheart LH 11 is just as quiet and smooth! I wore them to the belts on the R50 and never had ANY issues!
Scorpions have one advantage, they have a bit stronger sidewalls but I don't drive aggressively that often so I never need. $1100 vs $400 Scorpions is more than twice the cost but not twice as good.

Have any more info on them?
