    Front Bumper Broken, Possible Fixes?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I scraped my 2007 s-line on a concrete slab in a parking lot and when backing out it ripped half of the bumper off. A lot of the plastic that held the bumper is broken so it is difficult to get the bumper to stay on correctly. Any thoughts on how I can attach the bumper to the car at least temporarily? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I assume you mean that the plastic tabs on the side broke/fell off?

    Can you use zipties?

Only way you can fix that left side is by plastic welding with metal reinforcement on the inside. Same with those smaller tabs on the right.

My bumper has this same problem on the drivers side. Didn't even realize it until I took off the bumper to do the timing belt service and I'm probably not going to fix it because you can't see it the bumper still sits flush with the fender but maybe down the road I'll get the s-line bumper

I'm heading to autozone and harbor freight tomorrow to see if I can find some plastic welding equipment. Hopefully I can find what I need.

You did the same as me... I weighed my options of filing an insurance claim or just buying a replacement. I quickly talked myself out of the claim. But finding a replacement S'line was crazy!! Since everyone wants one, people selling want crazy $$

I ended up going with an aftermarket one from eBay. Perfect fitment! It arrived fast and well packed.

I get some grief from people when they see pictures, mostly because they prefer more of an OEM look. But those that see it in person LOVE IT! I really like how my AWE FMIC stands out so much more behind the "open" grill area.

Here's the seller I got the setup from...

I don't see any bumpers posted, but I'm guessing you could message them and see if they still offer them.

I'm also local to you. I live on the north side of town, near 15th Ave and the 101. I work in N.Scottsdale. So if you ever want to take a closer look, just let me know!

I thought that S Line bumpers were only OEM?

Edit: well that one wont work for me as it does not have the sport package fitment. Gah

This just happened to me the other day, but with a huge snow drift. Argh! The damage isn't just to the front bumper though, it looks like it also pulled out some of the metal fasteners from the side panels, as well as a ton of plastic brackets (including an expensive looking one that attaches to the driver's side light).

I sourced a used bumper from Prestige Bumpers, but and thinking I'll need lots of extra parts ordered. Its zip tied at the moment while I take it to the body shop tomorrow.

haha that actually happened to me last friday, it grabbed on the plastic cover that protects the engine compartment from dirt and because of that it ripped the side of my bumper a little. Pretty pissed off but i am actually thinking of getting RS4 bumper

I'm gonna go try the plastic welding and see if it will hold up. I will report back next weekend hopefully.

Yes go DTM, or use Prestige Bumpers to source another S-line bumper

Prestige Bumpers sucks ass don't buy from them. They literally gorilla glue nails against the damage on the inside of the bumper, body filler and and sand the front, then cover it with primer. Ask me how I know.
