Anyone know how to find the bulid date?

I searched, I ran my VIN through a few decoders, I checked every label on my car and can't find anything that indicates the build month on my car - just curious if anyone knows how to figure out the actual build date, most other cars just list i on the door frame, month/year. I have the original window sheet and even it does not say.

Should be on the bottom of the B pillar (between the front and rear doors), and will list the month and year of the build. (Unless you bought the car used and it had repair work and/or repaint.

I have copy of dealer order sheet ordering my car from audi, once verified I got actual week f production. Not day, as manufacturers do not want to to know build day,as many buyers are concerned about Monday or Friday cars. My car was made 41st week of2014. Shows October 2014 on plate non B piller

all cars have their build date on the vin sticker. I think it has to be on there. Just the month and year. I have one of the last 2014. Mine was built in late april and I believe early may was last of the 14's June was when they stated building 15's

If you are interested I can tell you the exact date your car was built. I would just need your VIN.

Doesn't it take more than a day to build them?

    Mine was:
    Vehicle Assigned: 08/06/2014
    Release to Manufacture: 08/12/2014
    Release for Production: 09/11/2014
    Factory Inspected: 09/27/2014
    Departure Port Arrived: 10/02/14

Release for production was a Thursday but it was not inspected for two more weeks. What is my build date then?

I think it would be the finished production date technically the day it came off the assembly line as it takes a week to build them typically.

I went through the factory tour in October when we picked up the new S4 with European Delivery. The degree of automation is amazing. I don't think the robots have a bad day. Humans do fit some parts near the end, but even then measurements are monitored so closely that you shouldn't worry. I wouldn't be surprised if 10 years from now no human hand touches the car while being built.

I did this with my 335 a few years back and almost everything was robots, then at one point there were 2 guys putting a couple rubber grommets in the rocker panel on each side at one point. I asked the tour guide why they didn't use a robot for that part and he said that the job was too simple for a robot and it was cheaper to use a human. The only thing worse than loosing your job to a robot is to have a job not worth being replaced by a robot I guess!

I really don't want to hijack this thread, but the topic seems answered and oddly, there is no section here on audizine discussing European Delivery. There is a section on Audi world forums.

The entire ED experience is great. The factory tour, museum, and experience at Audi Forum with restaurant, shop and personal delivery on the floor are a super experience. The best part is being able to drive your new car over there free for two weeks and take it on the autobahn. It only makes real economic sense if you were going to visit there anyway and rent a car during your trip.

Hanging from the ceiling all along the line, there are large readouts of the condition of the robots and the line. We saw a number of workers riding along on bicycles to service the machines as they needed it. The line has parallel machines at a number of spots. The humans jobs were to replace the welding rods as needed periodically. The parallel lines at those spots were so the entire line and production would not shut down while one robot was being serviced.
