Alzor Wheel Question - Center Bore

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
After getting screwed on a local purchase of some OEM RS4 Style wheels Im saying screw it and getting some Alzors...

But Im looking at some of these and I don't understand the differences..

    17"x7.5" ET35 CB57.1 5x112 Hyper Silver and1 7x7.5" ET35 66.6CB 5x112. Hyper Silver

    I get that they're 17x7.5 ET 35 5x112.

But the Center Bore...57.1mm and 66.6mm...
    Key Features:
    17"x7.5" - Set of Four
    Offset: 35mm
    Center Bore: 66.6mm
    Bolt Pattern: 5x112
Includes Four 66.6mm to 57.1mm Hub Centric Rings
    Hyper Silver Finish
    Concave Face
    TPMS Compatible
    Includes Center Caps
    Requires Conical Seat Lug Bolts
    Weight: 22 lbs Each
One of them says it has the adapter rings..

    The other says.
    17x7.5" ET35 wheel size
    66.6 center bore
    5x112 bolt pattern
Split spoke mesh wheel with a concave face
    Hyper Silver in color
    TPMS compatible
    Conical Seat Lug Bolts Required
    22lbs weight per wheel
What is the correct Center Bore to fit on our cars? From researching It appears to be 57.1..

Which would put me in these

I want 18" but I already have a full spare set of 17" Tires I'm not using..

Question is too...Will these wheels even clear my B5 S4 brakes.

    Appears as though maybe not.

Research also shows B6 A4 Sport wheels weigh 26-27lbs/ea and these are 22lbs... Not a big savings..

Anyone know what the VMR V710's weigh?

Correct the center bore on our cars is 57.1. Alzors make their center bore 66.6 in order to fit the B8 platform; and then give the rings for the B6 applicatios..Alzors, VMRs and other budget wheels aren't really wheels to buy when looking for weight savings..

I weighed by OE B6 A4 Sports a year or so ago...

    51lbs w/ GY Eagle GT 245/45/17

Couldn't believe they were that heavy.

Im mostly looking for a change in look and some weight savings. 10lbs of rotating mass could make quite a nice static saving after moment of inertia is calculated.

I dont think you can save much on wheels unless your willing to spend $$$. And even then you will only save 1-2 maybe 3 lbs per wheel. A better place to start is the brakes. Light weight calipers and rotors cut a lot more weight and have the same impact.

I lost about 15lbs per corner up front on my brakes alone on my mk4 R32. Stock rotors were 26lbs -> Racing Brake are 18lbs... Stock Calipers were 13.xx lbs -> RacingBrakes are 4lbs.
I also went from BBS RCs at ~25lbs to TSW Nurburgs at 18lbs but the nitto tires were heavier by 3 lbs than the old worn Eagle F1s so the weight savings there was negligible.

It made a huge difference in the way the car felt and handled.

There are some Alzor wheels that are machined with a center bore of 57.1. Although due to the wider range of fitment you can achieve with a 66.6 center bore and adapters we've chosen to have most of them come in 66.6 center bore.

For lightweight wheels check out Team Dynamics. They are the spec wheel in several professional race classes. I ran the pro race 1.2s 17x8s, about 18lbs. I was able to feel some gainzz on the butt dyno.

I upgraded to brakes....so mine are actually bigger...and probably heavier.

however, rotors and calipers are not sprung weight, they are non-rotating mass. Thus only the static weight loss makes any differences.

Calipers are un-sprung weight. Rotors, wheels, crankshaft, pulleys, axles, drive shafts, flywheels, clutches, transmission parts, pressure plates.. Anything that "rotates" is is all considered rotating mass.

Most definitely your car will be a 5x112 pcd and 57.1 center bore.

While using hubcentric rings is an option, we normally do not recommend doing so.

Also, just to answer your other question, our V710's in 18x8.5 sizing will be 22.0-22.5 lbs.
