RS7 Exhaust Sound from Inside Cabin

    Hi Everyone,
New poster here, and considering buying an RS7. There are no test drives available in my area, so I've only been able to drive the S7. The performance was great, but I was disappointed with the exhaust sound from inside the cabin even on dynamic mode when i'm on the throttle. My question for RS7 owners is how aggressive is exhaust sound from inside the cabin with the sportback and dynamic mode?

As a comparison, i've also driven the XFR-S and was very disappointed with the exhaust volume at full throttle from inside the car (even though the car is wicked fast!). The Ghibli Q4 in Sport mode has a decent sound from inside.

The sport exhaust inside in sport mode and dynamic has a deep rumble and when you let up on the gas the exhaust pops and crackles very nice. Loud enough

The 2016 S7 comes with an optional sports exhaust. Prior years didn't.

This ^. Also, the sound seems to improve as you go and things warm up.

Thanks for the replies! At full throttle, windows closed, would you guys say it sounds loud and aggressive?

It does sound aggressive to everyone else outside no doubt but personally it is isolated compared to say my 03' C5 RS6 from the inside. It sounds great but it is muted. I have a friend with the 03' RS6 so have driven them back to back and the experience is very different from an aural standpoint. I'm not at all an exhaust person or really care (I have not ever changed out the exhaust on my cars) but I would call the RS7 exhaust from the drivers seat relatively quiet even in dynamic...in auto mode it is subdued. In dynamic with the popping on downshifts...that's fun. Just from your comments you are going to want to go aftermarket.

The S6,S7, S8 and RS7 also have active mounts on subframe to cancel out outside noises. So it may sound awesome on the outside, thanks to technology and comfort and convenience it will be quiter on the inside.

My RS7 with sport exhaust in sport mode is perfect. Before tune, it burbled and popped and sounded great, even inside. If you plan to tune, its even better! I wanna say the sport exhaust is made by Miltek but cannot confirm. Anything louder, I suggest domestic muscle with magna flow slip-ons--

No I wouldnt. I love the tone and the pops but it's not loud (like my z06 was)

Check the forum for the muffler mod, this keeps the tone but increases the volume

And if your wallet is heavy there's the akrapovic titanium exhaust which sounds awesome and is louder
