    OEM Bluetooth Retrofit

    Hey fellas, I've searched relentlessly for days on this and can't seem to find any threads with this information that is current...I Just recently bought an RNS-E from a friend and he also included his OEM bluetooth module and antenna from under the seat of his totaled B7. The insurance company wrote the car off and let him keep whatever electronics he wanted before they came and scooped it up. I got the RNS-E installed fine and coded correctly and now I'm moving onto the bluetooth module. From what I've read, it appears I still need the bluetooth interface cable with a 10 pin connector to attach to the harness I bought from euro-parts for the RNS-E. This will supposedly be plug and play on the RNS-E harness if I get the correct 10 pin connector. I also need the mic and mic cable. Does anyone know a reliable source for these parts besides the dealer and preferably in the states? I'd like to get this all ordered and installed before Christmas for my wife. For the record, the car is a A4 8E coded correctly with vagcom. TIA guys!

    Yea, I just thought they weren't in the states. I see now they have a US site, guess I'll see if they ship parts from the U.S. Thanks man!

    kufatec parts are so shitty, I would go OEM it probably doesn't cost that much and you can find a genuine mic on ebay for pretty cheap.

    Yea I've heard that about kufatec...I also found out what they pass off as plug and play is far from it. It doesn't come with the connector to plug right in to the quadlock. You have to splice and all sorts of crazy shit. I also looked into ordering from them, but the lead time on the harness is 3-4 weeks. I can't believe theres nobody else selling these. Must be becoming a lost art from what I can tell by the dead links and research I've done so far. I'm just worried the dealer will give me shit because I have an RNS-E and bluetooth adapter from a 08' Cabrio in my 04' A4 USP. My local dealer are stuck up assholes!

    So I finally got this all sorted out and installed. Everything seems to be working that I'm aware of. Even made an attempt on the coding after reading for days on end about this. There's a couple things that are really just killing me at this point. I know my coding has to be inaccurate because I'm logging fault codes in the new modules. I really could use some babysitting on coding this thing as I've been reading for 3 nights now on proper coding of these modules, and I still just seem to have something incorrect. I'd really appreciate the help of a vagcom guru if any care to help. The car is an 04' a4 b6 8e ultrasport. I came with the symphony ii and I recently retrofit a rns-e and followed a week later with an oem bluetooth module. I don't have SDS, or a mfsw. My main problem seems to be coding the bluetooth module correctly as I keep getting a steering wheel relate fault code.
    00466 - control module for steering column electronics (j527)
    004 - no signal/communication
    Freeze frame:
    Fault status: 01100100
    Fault priority: 5
    Fault frequency: 1
    Reset counter: 114
    Time indication: 15

    I have only attempted coding the modules under -07. I haven't changed any adaptation values. I have it currently coded 0010307 which was originally 0011877 for whatever reason. The radio is coded 0319621, which was originally 0413617. Anything I'm overlooking? I have another issue, but it's not an immediate concern like the functionality is at the moment. Thanks fellas.

    Do you mean module 77 instead of 07?

    I have an 05 USP with RNS-E and the OEM bluetooth module (I also have the Bose system and Sirius radio). Here is my coding:

    77 - Telephone - 0010777
    37 - Navigation - 0309671

    I'm no expert, and it's been a few years since I installed it, but I can try to help with any questions. And are you using the Ross-Tech WIKI?

    Thanks man. I meant to say under telephone module 77, then 07 which is coding tab. I'll try your setup and see if I can get rid of my fault codes. I did forget to mention the factory bose setup, which it does have. Do you know of a way to fix the connect/disconnect chime volume without the mfsw? It makes me jump every damn time. Ha! I am using Ross tech wiki, but I just don't know which of a certain number to use under certain codes. Way too many options. :-)

    I've never looked into adjusting it, but I guess I've also never considered it too loud. Since we don't have the MFSW, I wonder if adjusting the nav voice volume affects it? I think you get to that by pressing the setup button while your on the Nav screen.

    Just out of curiosity, do you have any fault codes stored in your phone module or rns-e when you scan them? The one I listed above bugs the hell out of me, because it's saying my steering column controls are faulty, yet they appear to be fully functional. Also, I have no readout of information in the DIS with regards to using the Bluetooth module. I've heard you're supposed to be able to access your phone book and other stuff with the buttons on the wiper stalk. I really hope my fault code is just related to a number I plugged into a module by mistake.

    You should be able to adjust the chime with the RNS-E volume knob while it's connecting Bluetooth. Just start turning the knob down when audio cuts out that brief second when it's pairing.

    While this method does work, it's strictly a temporary solution. Next time it pairs, the extremely loud sound returns. :(

    I have a fault code related to an intermittent wiring problem with my antenna, but nothing like what you have. You do have it coded for CAN diagnostics, while the car has K-line (3 vs. 7). Maybe that's affecting it?

    0xxx?xx: Installation List

    1 = Diagnostics via CAN
    2 = Multi-Function Steering Wheel, Diagnostics via CAN
    3 = Head Unit (e.g. RNS-E), Diagnostics via CAN
    4 = Multi-Function Steering Wheel, Head Unit (e.g. RNS-E), Diagnostics via CAN
    5 = Diagnostics via K-Line
    6 = Multi-Function Steering Wheel, Diagnostics via K-Line
    7 = Head Unit (e.g. RNS-E), Diagnostics via K-Line
    8 = Multi-Function Steering Wheel, Head Unit (e.g. RNS-E), Diagnostics via K-Line
