Defrost on = Poor radio reception

Hello all. I have had this problem for a while now. I searched but could find no answer. As stated When i turn on the rear defroster, the radio reception turns to static. Usually the radio reception is Okay. I do have the infamous cracked amplifier board. I followed the ionicswing DIY hoping this would help. Unfortunately it did not. Like I said radio reception is usually fine even before i did the DIY. Just wondering if it has happened to anyone else. 02 sedan with stock radio. Thanks.

I had the same thing on my 2005.5 S4. It was a minor annoyance so I did not try to solve it.

i have the same issue, but my tab that the cable connects to the amplifier is snapped off of the board. im guessing that's my problem, since im guessing thats a ground.

that would be my best guess is a bad ground somewhere.

to clarify the one wire that connects to the flat connector not the circle connectors

I never thought about the ground. I will clean the grounding point and connection and see how it goes. Thanks for the info.

Broadband noise generated by the blower motor is wiping out your radio reception. Chasing bad grounds is the best place to start.
