A4 B8 LED tail light repair??

    Hi all,
I know its a long shot but has anyone been able to repair a 2009 A4 B8 LED tail light that has some of the LED individual modules failed?
    Can they be opened?
Can the LED modules be sourced and can they be replaced?
If so are there by any chance any DIY's on the subject?

if you want to repair an individual LED, it may be difficult as i'm sure the LED is soldered in, so you have to remove that cleanly and then solder in a new one, and also you'd have to make sure it's the same exact type or it will look off and different from the rest of the LED bulbs.

also, i believe that LED strip itself is one piece and can be replaced separately, i've seen it before but just not sure on the part # or if it's sold that way, unless you can get it off a salvaged headlight or something.

There are a number of issues that basically prevent these from being fixable. First, the housing is sealed so you need to use a heat gun to remove the outer lens. Obviously resealing it correctly could be an issue. Then, as others have said, you'd need to source the exact same bulbs, and even then the new ones would likely be noticeably brighter than the rest since they are new and from a different lot. So basically you'd have to change all of the bulbs out if you want it to look right. I think there's like 12-13 or so per housing. It's not impossible but there's very little chance of a successful outcome. Check ebay for used ones. I was able to find a working inner right unit for about $100.

If I get a tail light replaced through the warranty, am I entitled to keep the old light?

Edit. The answer is no. They have to return the faulty part.

Well, it's seams that those 100 hours -LED-life have just arrived... Starting to loose some. Dealer won't seal-change them, as already been sealed in the past... Any DIY?
    Thanks
