What's a good color for valve covers. What's everyone paying for powder coated v-covers & where. My car is brilliant red. Some time in the future I'll have a wrinkle red manifold

Flat black with silver coil packs and lines. I would have preferred wrinkle, but I paid less than $100 for media blast and coating, so not gonna complain.

I couldn't find any pics before I installed everything, so just a post pic.

Was about $200. I did the same thing and bought an extra set for limited downtime and sold the old ones after.

Red, black, silver, and yellow are the most common colors that we PC valve covers in. I'm waiting for someone to do something wild.

Our prices vary a bit depending on color/finish/texture, but feel free to give us a call for a quote.

The best looking ones I've seen in pictures, imo, are the silver vein. When I did mine I just had the insides blasted clean and left the outsides untouched, but I was strongly considering a silver vein powdercoat

Not an S4 but since the V6 has plastic valve covers and manifold and the S4 has metal valve covers from what I was told I chose not to powder coat because it wouldn't hold up to the heat. So what I did was have the body shop paint each of them and match the manifold to my body car color denim blue. It's held up perfectly.
The advantage to doing this over powder coating is that when you powder coat you only have the shops colors to choose from which are limited and if you wanted a specific color you would have to pay out the ass. Unlike with paint a body shop can match it to your body perfectly or whatever color you want for about the same cost as powder coating I paid like 150 or 175 for intake and like 80 for VC'S or something like that I forget it was very reasonable and it's held up perfectly the quality of work was perfect.

So just mine back from the powder coater. I removed the baffles on the underside. Debating if i should put them back on. My fear is the screws dont stay in over time. If you take a look at the plastic ones, they dont have the baffles.

I don't think I ever heard anyone having issues with those screws coming loose. Intake Manifold casting screws yes, but not the ones on VCs.

you can see those plastic ones do have a baffle of sorts, but it's not the same as the metal ones. that's why you can't fully see the bottom of the oil cap. i believe the purpose is to prevent liquid oil from getting sucked up into the ccv hoses, ensuring that only vapors make its back into the intake. personally I'd put them back on, I had the same concern about the screws falling out but I just used some red locktite to prevent that

Do you know the torque specs for those screws? And what adhesive did you use for the baffles. Not sure what was on there from the factory.

really tight. lol sorry, I couldn't find a torque spec I just got them nice and snug with red locktite. I used the black permatex gasket stuff to seal it. btw I was only guessing about the function of these things, it seems like a logical assumption imo but that's all it is, just to be clear about that...

also if you had your valve covers sandblasted or media blasted in some way then you'll want to be sure to get all the media out, I had some stuck inside those baffle screw holes that I almost overlooked, I picked out as much as I could and then thoroughly sprayed the covers inside and out with a pressure washer like 10 times, put the baffles back on and waited more than enough time for the sealants to dry and then pressure washed the covers again just to be ocd about it.
