Hey Vista461,
I have a 2001 Audi Allroad that has had a similar problem TWICE.
From my internet searching I found people switching decks, amps, all sorts of crazy stuff. Don't do that yet.
Are you noticing any other electrical mishaps, like window problems, locks, dome lights? Some people found the problem to be a wearing of a cable (drivers door, inside the rubber boot) and once that was taped or repaired (replacing the
drivers side wiring harness, which is over $100 IIRC)
Now here is the real test of patience, hey you already got the car! In both cases, my issue resolved itself. You might try disconnecting the battery and touching ground to flash reset the computers, just make sure you have the audio code unlock from the previous owners manual or Audi ($).
Changing fuses never helped, it didn't visibly blow them. After a few days of driving the car the audio just suddenly returned. Once it took over a week. I bought a bluetooth speaker because I went for a road trip - but before I even hit the border the symphony blew my head off.
Stupid I know, but give it some time, use the time to ponder deep thought.
