    Heated rear seats

    Hey,

Does anyone one know how pre-wired the a6's are?

I have a 14 prestige without the winter package (kicks himself in the ass).

Was curious if there is much of a difference in the wiring for the heated rear seats.?.?. I know it's not a very expensive addition and thought it is probably a dealer install.

Anyone do this after the fact?

Huh? I'm sure that the heating elements have to be in the seat not just the button to make a heated seat. I don't think your plan to retrofit heated rear seat is going to not be very expensive.

If all it is removing the rear seat from this donor car at the pull yard and the switch... I think it's gonna be about $175 (quoted price).

But if I have to change codes and run wires it will be much more difficult.

I have a 2012 A7 without the cold weather package. I'm a Texan stuck in Iowa and it sucks!

I saw that the elements cost about 200 each. Wondering if the harness is already in the seat and codes can be added to activate it. Also would have to purchase the switches in the rear obviously.

When I took my rear bench out it looked like wiring was built into the harness. I'm sure its going to take quite a bit of work for it since you have to run wires to each button, then to each side of the seat element, then to the control module (brain). sounds like a pain

There are NO heating elements in the seats nor will there be any wiring pre installed. If you have the rear hvac panel then replace it with the appropriate one and add wires tot he rear fuse box and to the seat base. Code the car to tell its got heaters.
No rear hvac panel then look at an aftermarket kit otherwise your looking at replacing the complete fan/blower unit behind dash and a bunch load of cables
