How do you remove the front license plate bracket?

    Hi All,

As the title states, I'm trying to figure out how to remove the front license plate bracket from our 2015 A3. I found and removed two screws (They screw in at an upward angle.) but something else seems to be holding it in. Are there clips of some sort or do I have to remove the grill to get behind it to remove the bracket? I don't want to break anything.

There are two metal clips on top and you shouldn't need to remove the bumper. They are c-clips and I just tugged and wiggled the plate holder till it came off.

    It's as simple as this
1)unscrew 2 screws with torx bit
2)grab plate from bottom with two hands
3)pry upwards with enough force until the top of the plate pops off
    4) done it should take about 68 seconds.

i've removed a few dozen of them at work.

My dealer claims it cannot be removed and there is nothing behind the bracket? I live in Texas, could this be true?

Your dealer is dumb. You might not want to ever visit them again.

LOL. That makes a lot more sense now. If they damaged the grille when installing the bracket.........well just see my above comment and insert it again here. After they fix it of course. ;-)

2015 Audi A3 front license bracket

Can anyone share how to install the front bracket? I need to replace my old broken bracket. I got the two small metals with it which I’m confused how to use them. There is no instructions anywhere as to how to install. Any information would be appreciated.

So the "metals" you are referring to - Is that the spring nuts? the parts that slide over the plastic tabs and give the screws something to grab? If you kneel down in front of the Audi rings (and pray to Audi gods for making such a kick ass car), look about 2/3s the way down the grill, lower than center and you should see two tabs "about" where the middle of the license plate would be. Slide the spring nuts over those tabs. It should be self-explanatory from there if you are using an OEM license plate bracket. You can see how the screws mount.

Short of a video on how to install, look for one on how to remove and reverse - engineer it? https://www.youtube.com/results?sear...+plate+bracket

Beside the spring nuts they came with another 2 clips like metal. I’m assuming they are for clipping the upper part of the bracket? I only figured how to screw the bottom part of the bracket. The upper part has no screws/holes or any kind of lock to secure it so it makes the upper part loose and hanging. Any idea how to secure the top part of the bracket? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Are you referring to the black tabs from this listing? This comes with two torx screws, two holders for the license plate screws, and two black tabs.
