I'm also looking at lifts. I just don't have the room for a 2 or 4 post lift, so was thinking about a scissor lift or quick jack. I know with a scissor lift it may be difficult working on the drivetrain and exhaust.

I had an HD9-xw *extra wide loved it never had any issues. $250 for the dedicated circuit and $800 for the lift install and $3000 for the lift. Best money I ever spend on a garage.

Yes it limits more than a two or four post lift for sure. With the taller lift pads you can gain access. There are versions of scissor lifts like the MDS‐6 that have open centers and can be parked on so they do not take up much space. They just cost more.

I love my lift and it was worth every penny!

Lowest setting doing a fender liner.

Highest setting because I can roll right under the car to work on motor, exhaust and steering rack.

I went with a more expensive scissors lift like cspcrx mentioned, the Atlas Kwik Bay. Open access to the center and 13 lock positions.

I built some wood ramps for mine. Bought it when I still had my A4, which was lowered on coilovers. The S4 at stock height will clear it without ramps, but there's no room to fit pads on the pinch weld lift points.

I can have the car in the air in minutes. Only had it a year and a half, but should have bought one years ago. Money well spent

I will be forced to share the lift with my daily-drivers and my project foxbody, so I will need a lift I can transfer back and forth. If I wasn't in the middle of a project, I would go with the open center scissor lift. My last research is to find the correct quickjack length that will work for the A4, S7, and foxbody, if possible.

Moved houses and reinstalled the Maxjax, right through Racedeck tiles. Has been like that for over 2 years now with no issues if anyone is on the fence.

Thanks, since those pictures I have put in a lot of shelving, storage cabinets and a place to sit and work while you are doing work.

I run a Bendpak scissor lift. Have hoisted a bunch of different cars on it. Only thing that doesn't fit is my wife's E70 X5 (due to where the jack pads are).

I like the StarQuest car. Loved those when I was in high school.

My buddy had a blue Conquest car was sick back then.

I see your also running a rapid air system, or were at the time of the pics. I put one in earlier this year. LOVE IT! I did three air drops with reels so nice!

I haven't installed the maxair yet :/ I've been super lazy and don't use air often. I have enough parts for 4 drops terminating at the middle of the two garage doors with a 20' hose reel.

Very cool. You will love your MaxAir system once installed. I had been pulling all of the parts together for it for about a year and finally installed it just before the summer. I went with rapid air fittings and reels, those made a huge difference as well. You can actually hear it with the impacts!

How much more clearance underneath are you working with? Is there a lot of room in the middle between the sides of the car?

I'd probably consider something like this so I don't have to drill into the slab.
