New Brake rotors have rust after one day! Is that normal?

I just installed new rotors and pads from Blauparts.
After installing them I drove the car home (about 50 minutes highway). The brakes were somewhat slow to react, called Blauparts, they said it would be normal at first and get tighter, as I drive them more.

Now after the car has been sitting outside for a day (with some slight rain) I go outside and there is rust ALL OVER the flat sides of the front rotors (see pictures).

Is that normal? My old rotors were all rusted up on the rim side but did not have any rust on the face of them.

It looks horrible and not at all nice and shiny, as I would like.. :(

Very normal, rotors have a high iron content and can oxidize rapidly.

If it bothers you you may want to give this stuff a try though it may not be practical for everyday use.

My rotors look like that after I wash the car. A quick trip around the block rotors are spot free.

Totally normal! Pretty much happens with every Audi I've owned after it rains or you wash the car. The first time you hit the brakes the surface rust is gone.

Nothing to be too worried about!

Rotor is pretty much a slab of ol'e iron and is (usually) coated with anti-rust coating as a whole. Once you install them and pad rapidly grinds though the coating, the exposed area gets rusty in seconds if water hits it. Good news is that it takes one application of brakes to grind the rust off and they are all shiny and new looking...until next time.
