    0-60 Times RS5 vs S5 Stage Stage II Tune

    Just wondering how the 0-60 times vary between a tuned S5 and a RS5. P3 Guage, guessing, other means of recording times are fine. Just want a ballpark. My car recorded 3.94 sec 0-60 on my P3 gauge.

    That's a super quick 0-60 run for a heavy Cab running the boat anchor peelers, so that is awesome! I dont have a P3 gauge but my car is probably much slower than that despite it being an RS5 coupe with lightweight forged wheels.

    Usually stage II (pulley + tune), regardless of brand, results in equal to slightly more power than the RS5.

    says rs5 stock is 4.3 and after ecu- 4.0

    s5 cab 5.1 and coupe 4.7 both stock
    and claimed 4.3 after stage 2 in a coupe- http://www.audi-sport.net/xf/threads...90awhp.224763/

    I've read the cab add .4 seconds to coupe times, so 4.7?

    S5 has the edge. More torque (wider powerband), and slightly more power. Many stage 2 cars have achieved 3.6-3.9s 0-60.

    I think realistically the RS isn't often hitting sub 4 seconds without a rollout like the magazines do.

    OP has a 2010 S5, which would be a V8, so not sure how that compares to the new V6 S5.

    I own both. S5 (b8.5) runs away from the RS5 all day long.

    I doubt a v8 s5 unless s/c will really get into the 3.xx's for 0-60

    Also I'd say different stg2 tunes will produce slightly different results as well. Revo supposedly is one of the most aggressive tunes on the market will probably be a bit faster then some other more "subtle" tunes.

    I've heard that the stage 2 V6T will get the RS5 at 0-60 because of torque, but the RS5 will catch up and beat a S2 V6T in the quarter mile with the high revving V8 and more HP. Miles...want to test this out? I'm curious to know.

    Unlikely... A normal stage 2 car makes more power than an RS, and the S5 traps higher in the quarter mile as well.

    That said, 60-120 race would likely be closer than a 0-120 race as the torque disadvantage really doesn't come into play with a rolling start.

    Yeah but that's stage 2. In the video it was an early version stage 1. The difference in either case wouldn't be as large as in the video if the testing was done under more scientific conditions.

    but the OP asked about Stage 2

    in any event Stock RS5 352 AWHP 282 TQ / Stg 1 S5 362 AWHP 345 TQ ... with 10 more hp and that much more TQ the video still makes sense

    In any event I used to have a stage 2+ S4 and, while it was slightly faster, I still prefer my RS. These threads are funny because I used to have the same justifications for my A4 and S4. When my A4 was tuned and had a K04 I would always argue why anyone would ever want an S4 when they could just tune a b7 A4 and have it be slightly faster than the B7 S4. Then I bought a B8 S4 and made the same arguments, "why would anyone by an RS5 when my stage 2+ B8 is nowslightly faster". And now that I have an RS5 I look back and I'm like "why did I ever care?"

    edit: but nowww I'm like, why would anyone by an R8 4.2 when they could have had a more powerful motor in an RS5. So I guess that means I'm ready to move up to an R8 soon?

    i don't think anyone is arguing which is better, we all know the RS5 is better than the S5 .. that's common sense.. however performance wise the Stage 2 V6T will out perform the Stock RS5 .. i think thats really the only point here

    Eh, you could make a pretty strong case that the S5 is better though. (cheaper, more power when tuned, 90% as good looking)...

    I just like when these threads pop up because of I can relate to the stages of similar justification that I have also gone through during my decade of Audi ownership.

    I rather have that beautiful sound then to deal with superchargers and shit. Never liked them never will. Would of been a 3.0 turbo not supercharged. Oh well.

    My philosophy is that you're not going to win any 0-60 contest (aside from racing minivans and other porkers) with +4000lb of fat, so you might as well sound good doing it.

    coming from a 600 whp Twin Turbo 350z i agree with you 100% i would take a turbo over an SC any day .. my wife thought i was nuts when i told her i enjoyed the power delivery on her A5 than my S5.. that being said i will take the tune ability of the B8.5 S5 over the sound of the B8 S5 anyday

    you would be surprised how many people can't launch their cars.. in any light most of my driving is highway 0-60 isn't my thing

    no i like the delivery .. i guess i was used to the boost building then the TQ kicking you back and pulling to redline vs the instant boost and power tapering off .. i've become used to it, but i miss the turbo power delivery
