Options for a flat bottom steering wheel cover?

Sorry for a naive question, but does anyone make nice leather steering wheel covers for the flat bottom S4's? I realize some people may think this is a crazy idea, but I just got the car and have a hard time getting used to the very slippery wheel - I just wish it was thicker and had better grip. Is there anything out there? What do people do? Or just get used to it? I looked into wheelskins, but they don't seem to make these... Thanks!

Slippery? Was it cleaned with Armor All? Or is the leather just too smooth for your tastes?

you get use to it. i don't find any issues with grip on the wheel and the 3 and 9 positions are good spots or where the flat starts

Most people trade them to guys with pre facelift models for fully round steering wheels. I'd be more than happy to swap with you.

You want it thicker? It's about as thick as steering wheels get.
I'd clean it with a proper leather cleaner if you find it slippery. It's probably been cleaned with AA which is like a grease.

I don't think you will find a wheel cover to fit. If you do - it will look like crap.
If anything, wear driving gloves vs getting a steering wheel cover.

Lol it's no where near as thick as a steering wheel gets. The rs4/5 wheel is a lot thicker and feels incredible compared to the thin, slippery S4/5 wheel.

First time I've heard somebody say it wasn't thick enough. It's got to be one of the chunkier wheels out there. My guess is that the dealer wiped it down with some type of product during new car prep. If you still don't like the wheel, another option would be to buy an oem Alcantara wheel and sell your current wheel: http://www.vw-oem-parts.com/OEM-AUDI...el-Alcantara-1

If you find the factory leather too slick you can change to an RS4/5 wheel with air leather or go the custom route with Alcantara:

Since it sounds like you already have a flat-bottom wheel you can reuse the airbag and the cost comes downs quite a bit.

There are not too many cars out there with thicker wheels mate. It's got to be in the top 1 percentile.
Trade up to an RS4/5 wheel is that's what you want. I don't think a wheel cover is going to come anywhere close to the feel of that wheel.

I have a feeling it was cleaned with an improper cleaner. Try something like 1Z Einszett Plastic Deep Clean from Detailersdomain to clean up your wheel.

Thanks everyone. So I tried to pay more attention to what's bothering me today - I honestly don't think there is anything "wrong" with the wheel per se (in fact it is gorgeous and comfortable) - I think the issue is that I am just used to wheel covers on all my other previous cars and I am used to a) a very thick wheel and most importantly b) a feel of a more rugged leather (a la wheelskins).

And I think another thing I am getting used to is that with this car you actually have to grip the wheel with some power as the performance tires seem to be rather sensitive, so you really have to drive the car, as opposed to the car driving you. Not sure if I am explaining it well, but maybe you know what you mean.

So I know, not much I can do, just gonna get used to the different feel.

Yeah, you'll get used to it. MrFunk's suggestion about driving gloves might be worth a try.
