University Audi - Seattle vs Lynnwood?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    looking for any opinions,

for the past 2 years i've gone to University Seattle, but i'm looking for opinions of whether lynnwood or another option might be better. I was definitely not impressed the one time i took the car into barrier bellevue.

for reference i'm in downtown seattle.

let me know your thoughts / horror stories.

    thanks

Is your car still in its warranty? If not why bother with either place? Went to Barrier to buy literally less than a foot of vaccuum hose for my DV's and was told it was a "special part" and would be 271.00 for it. Went to ACHTuning and they gave it to me for free.

If you need some sort of in-depth work done look at some other indy-shop. ACHTuning or the like will do the same if not better work for likely a lot less.

Personally had no issues with Barrier Audi, but if you must go to University Audi, I would say go to the UW location for all type of works but Lynnwood location only for maintenance work.

I have always had experiences that if you didnt buy your car from barrier they could give two steaming $hits about you or your car.

My wife had an 04 B6 1.8T when I first met her she bought it from barrier, said short of the free car washes that place isnt work the time for any major work done or cash spent at.

That being said the guys at Larson have been really cool and helped me with tires and free loaner and some other good deals in the past.

I've gone to University location a number of times and they always seem to take the extra precaution with the car and treat it and me quite well. Barrier imho can be flaky and costly, for even the simplest of things. For example, when I went to get new tires mounted, University taped all the edges of the rims and made sure there were zero scratches. Also, they offered to check other items on the car at no cost and actually fixed a sticky shifter button.

I've had good experiences with University in the past, though I don't get my cars serviced there because I DIY everything. Barrier I have nothing but bad experiences with, except for once when I bought a paint touchup pen, the parts guy was nice. I bought my b6 from there and the whole process really sucked. I bought my last B7 from University Lynnwood and they were awesome and I've been to University Seattle a number of times looking at Q5s and the sales guys are very nice and informed (though I generally know more than them because I'm obsessive like that) and treat you like an adult, not like a walking bag of cash for the taking.

University Seattle's new showroom and garage is amazing too. Its freaking immaculate and very impressive. Also they always have an R8 of some sort kicking around and I got to mess around with the new A3 when I was there last. Always fun being able to play with the new toys.

Also From what I recall, Uni. Lynnwood is just their lot for Used and Preowned cars. They keep some inventory in Seattle, but the majority of it is at Lynnwood, especially if its not a CPO or somewhat new.

hm, so it sounds like theres no real difference between lynwood and seattle, so best to stay close to home.

    achtuning is an interesting thought.

the only reason I bring my car is just a once a year inspection/check-up and I'll have them do an oil change. free wash doesnt hurt either.

Free wash at a dealership always hurts. I always opt out.

just serviced my car at university UW location today. Bradley was very easy to work with. Car has intake, exhaust, and springs on it and they were cool with it. Car has audi care and everything was done with no charge.

Lynnwood is just the used car branch of University Audi, any service you get done will get done at the main one in U District.

With regards to service when I had my A6 I took it in twice to get minor things fixed, they didn't fix it either time. Then when I brought it in to get my tires switched out they scratched 3/4 wheels.

I got into an accident with my S6 (not my fault) and the body work was done at Queen City and mechanical was done at Barrier (now Audi Bellevue). I'd recommend Audi Bellevue/ACHTUNING.

If you go to Audi Bellevue ask for Sean, if you go to ACHTUNING ask for Kelly.

Never had any problems with U Audi, in fact they gave me a S4 for a loaner last time.

I've only used university in lynnwood, but have had zero issues. Always give me a loaner, always give me my car back in better shape than I dropped it off, and always ensure that any questions or issues I have are addressed before I leave.

I've only used Barrier once and it was a good experience. My clutch went out in my RS4 on the way home from work and I had to have it towed to their location. It was late in the afternoon and they were out of courtesy vehicles and they also didn't have any openings on their schedule for 3 days to be able to look at my vehicle. So they set me up in a rental car from Enterprise (Dodge Challenger V8) which I ended up having for 5 days. They also had no problem with me ordering a clutch and flywheel from JHM and installing those instead of just installing OEM parts.

I can't say if my experience was out of the ordinary or not from them but I came away very happy with the way they handled things.

Question for you guys getting loners. Do they give you one for simple work? Or are these medium - long term loners for issues that take longer time to diagnose/fix.

I got a loaner from university when I brought the b7 in for a free inspection. Basically got to tool around in a 3.0t q5 for a day for free. Just ask. They'll definitely give you one if they have a loaner available.
