Do not use a spacer for anything but to pass inspection. your ECU uses the second 02 sensor. you need to get it tuned out to prevent a CEL.

I have a gutted cat with the secondary 02 spaces out using a 45 degree spacer. Runs just fine. I get a light once in a while but I passed my emissions test with the light off. I was laughing the whole way through.

NEVER put a spacer on the first o2 sensor. The second one is fine.

I have a 90 degree one like this http://www.amazon.com/Degree-Angled-.../dp/B00B1U6I54 mainly because I have a b6 test pipe and the rear o2 bung is in the wrong spot. Don't have the rear o2 tuned out and I've never had a CEL

I've heard from a few people that the ecu uses the post o2 sensors and that it can fuck things up

well that makes sense kinda if the ecu doesn't use the pre cat o2 then what is the point but ok I reckon when I get my test pipe JHM spacer for the post cat o2 by the way nice slipping in with the advertisement for 30 bucks cant beat that

People say it does but I've never seen proof of this, If it does it doesn't use it for much in terms of fueling. Lots of people (including myself) run with spacers with 0 problems, and since I have a wideband I can assure you AFR values are just fine with a spacer.

Spend real money on the spacer. The 3$ ones from autozone aren't big enough for the sensor.

You could always buy 2 for $6 and stack them.

I tried that, but I had to drill out one of them so the sensor would fit in, drilled the lower threads right out. Went and bought a 30$ one meant for o2 sensors and it works beautifully.
