Thumbs down Chemical Guys Jetseal 109 review

My review of Chemical Guys Jetseal:

I purchased jetseal about 8 months ago and thought initially it was a solid product. I have changed my thoughts on that as of recently. While I think the shine looks good on my black car, and applies and removes easily as stated. I have followed the instructions (and videos!) and my paint is not perfect by any means, it has been clayed to remove contaminants and cleaned properly prior to sealing. Keep in mind that I apply the jetseal every 6 weeks. Probably 2 months after initial purchase, I noticed bird droppings on my car, I waited 2 days before I could actually remove it because I was busy, and it completely etched my clear coat where it had landed (which was on the side of the vehicle). This could be my fault for not removing it sooner, but if your sealant isn't protecting the clear coat, I guess it's not working. This should of been my cue to find a better product. Flash forward to two weeks ago, I washed my car, and also applied a single layer of jetseal by hand. Followed instructions, and let it cure at least 30 minutes per panel in 75 degree weather. The car looked great as it always does. We had a light rain here a week later and my car was a spotted up from the dust and light rain combination. A bird bombed the roof of my car also in the same day. So when I got home, knowing that the jetseal doesn't protect against bird droppings very well, I hosed it off my car in the garage. I didn't do a full wash/ and dry because it was almost the weekend and my microfiber towels were not clean yet from my normal sunday 2 bucket wash a few days prior. The next day, there were water spots all over my car on horizontal surfaces. I just ignored it and assumed it would wash off when I washed my car because it had been jetsealed 2 weeks prior. I was wrong. I have water spots embedded into my clearcoat and have not been able to chemically remove them yet.

Conclusion: Jetseal does not protect against waterspots or bird droppings. I don't recommend it.

Chemical Guys quickly deleted my review that i posted on their webpage even though I gave it a "fair rating". So I hope people know that if you read reviews on their website, they are deleting ones that devalue their marketing effort which should of been a no brainer, but sadly I bought into it.

Yes it is not a good product. I am not a fan of any of their products. Adams is great. Sonax polymer net shield. Opticoat.

Agreed on your findings. A few of their products are decent. Inner clean, hose free wash, and their clay products are about the only ones I like.

They did actually post my review which I was surprised.

There is no sealant that can really protect you from bird droppings. If they are able to eat through modern clear coats what makes you think a sealant would protect against that? I do agree about the water spots though.
