stock b8.5 s4 more hp than advertised??

i was reading an article a couple days back about how apr dyno'd their b8 s4 and supposedly put down more HP than advertised. did anyone dyno a stock b8.5 and have more hp than what audi says?

I don't know about anyone doing stock dyno runs but would think you may get some replies. The car magazines have all said that it must be underrated based on acceleration times.

It's widely known and has been widely discussed that Audi underrates it's cars. Been doing it for ages... some will overrate (BMW).
Stock the S4 is approx 360 crank HP.... some reporters think higher given it's performance numbers...

On the same Dynojet Dyno. My B8 S4 dyno'd higher (300whp) than my new B8.5 (around low 290s ) stock.

Could be the gear ratios change (weren't in the same gear because of this). But i also think i read the B8.5. are more accurately rated. Don't quote me on this please.

Thats what all the chip tuners claim is why you don't see the correct results once flashed without the DSG tune. Dunno if they changed the manual or not but they deff changed the dsg ratios

Also still if your hitting 290 at the wheels thats not a bad drop from 333 with the awd.

Which BMWs over rate? The current M5 regularly dynos at over 500whp and is rated at 560 crank, I doubt it's losing less than 10% through the drivetrain. 300 hp/tq rated 335s make 275-285 wheel and hell , even my old 292hp rated 540i with over 145k and a big getrag and mechanical LSD makes over 265whp stock.

Most German marquees under rate output, not just Audi. The German standards are very strict and most ratings are absolute worst case scenarios. Go run crappy gas on a 115 degree F day back to back pulls so you are heat soaked... At 4000 feet above sea level and see what output is.

Then their dyno is crap. The S4 motor is absolutely underrated-- but no where near that off. Correction for AWD is anywhere between 16-20% loss from crank to wheels. It is not putting out close to 400hp.
