    APR Presents the B8.5 A4 / A5 / Q5 & C7 A6 2.0 TFSI VL (Flex/Non Flex) ECU Upgrade!

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
APR is pleased to present the ultimate engine control unit (ECU) upgrade for the 2.0 TFSI engine with Audi Valve lift!

    Product Page: http://www.goapr.com/products/ecu_up..._long_b85.html

APR’s ECU upgrade is available in octane-specific variations and is conveniently flashed to the vehicle’s factory ECU through the OBD-II port without any physical modification to the factory ECU. APR’s patented EMCS functionality puts the control of your engine’s operation at your fingertips and allows for additional features and options to be installed to your OEM ECU.

The Bosch MED17 engine management system is responsible for proper operation of the engine during constantly changing environmental and load conditions. With built in compensational data for environmental variables and varying load conditions, the factory ECU is far more complex and intelligent than units found in other vehicle makes and marques.

APR’s Calibration Engineers spent months calibrating the engine management system, including many hours of chassis dyno development. With a thorough understanding of the ECU’s torque structure, APR’s Calibration Engineers properly increased engine load to produce more power and torque from idle to redline. APR’s ECU Upgrade increases turbocharger boost pressure and optimizes cam timing, valve lift, ignition timing, lambda and more to produce higher output. Ethanol 'flex fuel' compatible engine variants can take advantage of automatic E85 map blending to add power simply by filling the tank. Using APR’s proprietary high-speed data logging suite, the calibration team closely monitored the effects of these changes to ensure a powerful ECU upgrade without derogating the engine’s drivability or reliability.

APR’s ECU Upgrade will provide an excellent leap in power and torque while retaining OEM knock control sensitivity and other built in safety features. The result is safely achieved power, optimized for various fuel grades found around the world. We call it Performance Without Compromise!

    APR ECU Upgrade

The APR Stage I ECU Upgrade is designed to work without requiring other changes to the vehicle’s hardware. With the ECU Upgrade alone, APR’s Calibration Experts measured higher peak figures of 284 horsepower and with 334 ft-lbs of torque 93 AKI octane fuel. Large gains were seen throughout the power band, including an additional 57 horsepower and 85 ft-lbs of torque. By adding E85 to the tank on the Ethanol compatible variants, automatic Ethanol map blending adds even more power, resulting in 85 horsepower and 135 ft-lbs of torque. The increase in power directly translates to an exceptionally quicker and more enjoyable vehicle.

By simply adding an APR downpipe exhaust system, APR's Stage II software, a free upgrade to existing APR Stage I customers, takes performance even further. on 93 AKI fuel peak figures of 302 horsepower and 334 ft-lbs of torque were achieved. Again, by adding E85 on flex fuel compatible variant, 318 horsepower and 405 ft-lbs of torque was achieved!

APR’s ECU upgrade is the best power per dollar modification for the new 2.0 TFSI engine and takes the vehicle’s performance to similar levels typically reserved for higher output, sporty models, without pushing the limits. With factory-like smoothness and drivability, APR’s ECU upgrade will fill the void in an otherwise excellent vehicle.

    Acceleration Enhancements:

Beyond power and torque enhancements, APR’s Calibration Engineers were able to increase the acceleration rate of the vehicle through other calibrations changes. Ignition delay is reduced resulting in a more responsive pedal without altering overall throttle sensitivity. Furthermore, drivability was greatly improved by reducing the throttle lag commonly noticed at slow speeds and while reapplying throttle after decelerating.

    Increased Fuel Economy:

APR’s Calibration Engineers paid close attention to several parameters directly related to fuel economy, especially while cruising at highway speeds. Depending on driving style and fuel quality, better miles per gallon may be achieved!

    Speed Limiter:

APR’s ECU upgrade increases the vehicle's top speed limiter for blistering sprints around the track or across the Autobahn without the speed limiter shutting down the fun!

Left Foot Braking / Brake Boosting:

APR's Left Foot Braking feature allows more control over the vehicle’s throttle. The factory equipped vehicle's throttle input is disabled while pressing the accelerator and brake at the same time. Left Foot Braking, a common motorsport driving technique, allows the driver complete control over the vehicle’s throttle and braking system, which may give the vehicle the edge it needs at the track. As is with all features APR adds to the ECU, this feature may be removed upon request.

    APR EMCS Programs and Features

APR’s patented EMCS, Enhanced Modular Chipping System, brings selectable programs and features to your factory ECU, all without the need to purchase external hardware. Other companies have attempted to imitate EMCS with clumsy external switching devices that only replace or multiply portions of a “base” calibration. However, EMCS has the ability to completely rewrite the entire operating map data, giving each map a complete set of calibration changes. APR’s EMCS features and programs modes are activated via your OEM cruise control buttons. Your cruise control will continue to function as normal.

    Program Switching:

Program switching allows the user to cycle through up to four different engine calibrations and operating modes all without the need for external hardware.

    Stock Mode:

By selecting stock mode, the ECU calibration is reset to the factory calibration. The engine will run exactly as it did before purchasing APR software.

    APR Performance Modes:

APR's octane-specific calibrations are available for various premium and race fuels around the world. Each performance mode is a completely new calibration, altered specifically for the characteristics of the fuel quality selected.

    Valet Mode:

APR's Valet Mode protects your vehicle from becoming an expensive toy for unauthorized individuals. By enabling Valet Mode, the vehicle's performance is extremely limited. Launch control is uneventful, the vehicles top speed is limited and the engine's redline is reduced.

    Fault Code Erase:

Fault code erase allows the user to erase and reset engine related trouble codes and ECU adaptation data without using a specialty tool.

    Security Lockout:

Security lockout prevents unauthorized individuals from using APR's EMCS functionality. When enabled, APR's EMCS features will appear completely invisible until a user specified 2 to 4-digit security code is entered.

    Anti-Theft:

When activated, Anti-Theft prevents the engine from starting even if the factory key is used. The vehicle will be completely immobilized until a user specified 2 to 4-digit security code is entered.

    APR Mobile

APR Mobile is a simple yet powerful tool designed to enhance the APR tuning experience.

APR Mobile installs on smart phones, tablets and other devices and provides a wireless connection to the vehicle’s engine control unit or ECU. Once connected, the device can be used to access APR’s EMCS program switching features, read and clear fault codes and data log the ECU at high data rates not found on other commercially available tools. The app can also be used to access APR’s latest news articles, locate dealers in APR’s network and review previously saved data logging sessions.

Tuned engine + electric motor? Seems like a great deal to me.

I want the 2.0 model of the Q5, and the hybrid has everything the TFSI only has, except more.

Arin, you say yet. Does that mean there are plans? Simply curious.

Alright, I'll just get the 2.0 TFSI then. Is there a E85 file for k04 in the works?

    The 2015's are compatible.

If you lift your engine cover and notice the intake manifold is silver, and made of metal, your car supports E85. If it's plastic, it doesn't.

We may need to get your ECU here, in house first, if we don't have it on the server already since it's so new. When the APR dealer plugs in, they can see if that's the case or not.

Lift the engine cover (big plastic thing in the center of this photo):

If the intake manifold is silver like this, you have a Flex Fuel model:

If the intake manifold is black plastic like this, your model doesn't support flex fuel:

I believe you can still get the tune, you just won't be able to use the E85 file.

He actually has the new EA888 Gen 3 motor. It's not available in the USA yet. It's like the new MK7 GTI motor.

This looks like a very interesting product - not having to split the ECU apart and all! However, am I correct to assume that with this software installed the car will throw a TD1 error code when tested at the dealer potentially voiding the warranty?

Do you benefit or gain an increase in hp and torque With stage 1 even if you just use the reqular 91octane premium gasoline or you need to load it with higher octane or e85 to appreciate? I dont intend to race but i would like to improve my q5 performance for daily driving.
