    Motor mounts upgrade

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I have searched around but it seems there is no general consensus on what would be the best motor mounts upgrade for an S-line manual. Mine are starting to leak slightly, so they will be due soon. So far, I think the options are:

    1. Stock OEM
    2. OEM RS4
    3. 034 Motorsport - 50a durometer
    4. Stern - 65a durometer
    5. BFI - 65a durometer
    6. ECS - 70a durometer
    7. Autospeed - 80a durometer

034 has some good reviews but also some say, they increase vibration and even fail more often. I need something better (if possible) than the OEM without adding extra vibration. What would you recommend?

Also, I got the 034 Snub. Do I need the metal bracket as well to fit nicely without issues?

Anything "better" will cause more vibration because it's not liquid filled... the 034 is your best bet if you don't want to remain stock. As far as the snub mount is concerned it fits in the stock location without any extra hardware.

034Motorsport Motor Mount Set (Street Density, Set of 2)

    FREE SHIPPING (Continental USA)

We're proud to announce the availability of the 034Motorsport's Street Density motor mounts for B5, B6, B7, and C5 chassis Audi and B5 Chassis Volkswagen models! They are designed with performance in mind, and manufactured from high-durometer rubber for increased performance and durability, without sacrificing comfort.

These Street Density motor mounts are manufactured from 50 durometer rubber, which is approximately 10% stiffer than stock. Since the mounts are also void-free and solid-filled, the resulting mount is approximately 25% stiffer than stock, eliminating the slop associated with the factory mounts. The mount bases are made from steel, and are much stronger than the factory aluminum ones, to cope with the added stress of spirited driving.

The result is greatly reduced drivetrain slop, crisper shifting, and minimal wheel hop, without any significant increase in noise, vibration, or harshness (NVH) inside of the cabin. These mounts are a completely re-engineered performance solution, not just inserts for use with the factory mounts.

    Features
    • Manufactured from 50 durometer (Street Density) rubber with void-free construction
    • Reduced drivetrain slop
    • Decreased engine movement under load
    • More direct power transfer
    • Improved shifting feel
    • Complete drop-in replacement of factory engine mounts
    • Comes with protective sleeves
    • Sold in pairs (one vehicle requires 2 mounts)

    034Motorsport Engine Snub Mount (B6/B7/C5/C6)

This performance polyurethane snub mount fits most late-model Audi vehicles manufactured after 2002, and is designed to increase stabilization of the motor under acceleration. 1mm undersized for vibration free performance when no load is on the engine.

    FITS THE FOLLOWING MODELS:

    • 2002 - 2008 Audi A4 & S4 B6/B7
    • 2000 - 2011 Audi A6 & S6 C5/C6
    • 2001 - 2005 Audi allroad C5

I have 034 and like them so far nothing to complain about, but I'm a fan of the BFI's because they are rebuildable not sure how they feel or how they hold up.

I replaced mine with 034 Street Density. I was concerned about increased vibration but I have not noticed any difference in vibration. They feel like OEM.

    I have the ECS B5 S4 mounts. http://www.ecstuning.com/ES2587616/
Depends on what you are looking for. Mine were blown and I didn't want more vibration, I wanted less vibration. These have been great so far, especially for the money.

ECS mounts are listed under Quattro only. My car is FWD. What difference would that make? And besides, I'm located in dark Africa. Does ECS ship here?

Also, does anyone know if there is any difference between OEM S-line and non S-line mounts?

No sensors on my FWD CVT base A4, so not all FWD have them.

Fitment wise they should still bolt up as the engine is still in the same orientation as quatto vehicles.

We also have different kits available if your vehicle is equipped with sensors - Click HERE

And yes we can ship to Africa, once you add the items to your cart and are ready for check out click the drop down to select your country and enter your postal code.

I have the ECS mounts on mine.

It's always a good idea to support the engine while changing out the motor mounts. Actually lifting it up can help ease installation if the mounts are thicker than OEM, which our mounts aren't - so if anything it would only be necessary to keep it from sagging while doing the swap.

Durometer would have little to do with vibration at that point.

Autospeed with 95a, isn't it track only use?
