Experience with Control Contact Sport A/S tires?

I've been running on Continental ExtremeContact DWS tires for the past several years. I find them a bit soft on hard turns, but otherwise great tires (I'm in Seattle, so lots of wet driving and the occasional snow on trips to the mountains).

It's time for new tires and I see Discount Tire is selling a new version of these tires called the Continental Control Contact Sport AS. Does anyone have experience with the Contact Sport AS to share? I'm especially interested if anyone can compare the Contact Sport AS to the ExtremeContact DWS.

    Thanks!

BUMP! I can't find any info on this damn tire. I know it's sold exclusively at DiscountTire. I placed an order for DWS and the sales rep called and said that was being discontinued and that the Control Contact Sport was taking it's place. I then asked if the tire is sold exclusively at your stores, how is it going to replace Conti's most popular A/S tire?? He didnt have an answer so I cancelled my order until I could dig up more info. I have also emailed Conti, haven't heard back yet.

Anyone else have experience w/ this new tire or have heard the DWS is being discontinued?

EDIT here is the response I received from Continental:

"Depending on the tire size your are looking for, the ExtremeContact DWS has not been discontinued. Discount Tire will no longer be selling that tire, instead they are selling the ControlContactSport AS, which is a similar tire."

Thanks for the update, saucyzest. I couldn't track down any solid reviews on the ControlContactSport AS. The closest I got was Continental telling me that tire tech improves over time and since ControlContacts are newer tires I could assume that they are likely a bit better.

I decided to buy a fresh set of ExtremeContact DWS. What did you buy?

It appears that the ExtremeContact DWS are NOT discontinued by Continental, but Discount/Americas tire will be droping the DWS tire. So far, Discount/Americas tire can special order the DWS.

Both tires are listed on the continental tire web page.
