Question Where's the best source for quality LED interior lighting swap?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I'd like to do the LED swap on my 2015 SQ5, and I see there are many places to get them and many brands. What's the best quality product when it comes to doing this swap? I know there a lot of variance in LED qualities and was just wondering who offers the best solution. And is there a certain color temperature that looks best? I've seen a lot of interior swaps done with color temps that are TOO white, almost blue, and I'm not a fan of that. Looking for something brighter and whiter, but not over the top. Any suggestions?

I used VLEDs in my previous vehicles and they were very BRIGHT!!! Very high quality. I purchased the cheap eBay LEDs for my SQ5 since I wasn't going for super bright lights (with the exception of the rear hatch, which I used a few VLEDs that I had left over).

You definitely don't want the blue hint. Go 5000k which is pure white. I previously purchased an interior light set from an eBay seller but they all burnt out. I did some searching and it seems that "iJDMToy", despite the name, has great quality LEDs (although a bit pricy). superbrightleds also makes very high quality/bright LEDs, but they are quite pricy and you need to manually find the bulb types for your car.

With any luck, someone may show up with a list of bulbs for the Q5/SQ5

This is what I wrote a few weeks ago.

Not sure what temperature the light is. You could ask the vendor.

Woohoo! Just installed my LED set from deautoLED.

Very nice. The only thing is I pulled the front lens(cover) off my vanity mirror lights. I had to superglue cover back onto the housing. I hope the bulb doesn't burn out :-).

Word of caution: The puddle lights, cargo hatch lights and glove box will be HOT!!!

    Be careful.

Thank you for the order and feedback.

We also have NEW blue/red or white LED footwells for cars equipped with LED footwells, so you can now change to blue, red or a brighter white that better matches your LEDs:
    http://deautokey.com/product/new-aud...-led-footwells

If you DO NOT have LED footwells, these will work for you:
    http://deautokey.com/product/2pc-6-l...white-red-blue

They are 2 different types, if you are not sure, contact us with a photo of the bulb in your footwells and we can let you know which one you need:

So I'm on the hunt for quality 5000K bulbs. Most places that have the Audi kits don't specify the color temp, so I've emailed all of them to find out what they are. Al the places that sell 5000K bulbs don't have pre-made kits...and I don't know all the bulb "types" to put together my own. Hopefully someone on here that's done this will come along with a bulb list.

There is a site that lists all bulbs for s given model. I will dig it up when I have a moment.

Doors, rear hatch, glovebox use 8 194's, but they sit sideways in the housing. Flank 194 LED's work well here. The footwells on mine were LED already. The sun visor mirrors use 2 39mm festoon. Not sure of overhead lights and front/rear map lights. This is for a 2014 3.0T

    Edit: here's a good DIY.... http://www.audiworld.com/forums/q5-s...-pics-2815759/

Edit: looks like reading lights use 6 194 and overhead map lights use 2 39mm festoon; if your footwell lights aren't led, then they'll be 4 more 194 sideways (flank)

Does anyone have the bulb list? I'd like to compare doing the VLED bulbs individually versus a complete kit.

Sorry, I've been on vacation. :-)

I did go with 5000k because I wanted a pure white light. Here is a link to all the bulbs I used: http://www.audiworld.com/forums/q5-s.../#post24514758
