Review - Eastwood Chassis Black paint..

$15 for a can of paint is a lot of money. That must make it good paint, right?

Apparently not. I used Eastwood Chassis Black Satin and followed the directions to the tee. It off like it's the thing to do.

I've painted many metals in my life, with many different paints. Such as POR-15, various primers, enamel, acrylic, epoxy, and so on. All have been durable, some more than others.

It flakes off if you drag your fingernail across the finish. I contacted them about it and received no reply. It wasn't until after this happened, that I read about other people having similar issues, and poor reviews on the product. I'm not sure how exactly they expect something that flakes off if you touch it, to hold up on a road debris-beaten area of a car, like the chassis...

Time to go waste an afternoon scraping it off of my subframe with a wire brush...

I'm not sure if it's a quality control issue and I got a piece of the bad product or what, but that's what happened

Try the VHT Roll Bar and Chassis. Reviews: http://www.amazon.com/VHT-SP670-Glos...ews/B000CPCRMC Cheaper than powdercoating so worth a shot! Good luck.

Thanks for the suggestion! That is exactly what Im going to use. I will treat the subframe with POR-15 and then that stuff over top, to protect it from UV rays.
