Looking for Q5 with Bluetooth Audio Streaming

I'm looking to pick up a Q5 that comes with Bluetooth Audio Integration (A2DP). Does anyone know what year Audi started the Bluetooth music streaming? My research is saying 2015, but want to make sure. Please assist.

I believe this will work for older models that [inexplicably] lack this feature:

As far as I can tell (and I've tried using a BT audio module on the AMI plug) you cannot have your cake and eat it too on the base 2014 Q5.

That is, if your phone has paired with the car's stock BT telephone package, you cannot use the same phone at the same time to pair with a DIFFERENT BT audio music adapter on the AMI cable.

So you have a choice. Yes, you can stream BT music through an AMI/USB adapter cable. OR you can have the phone integrated into the car, as a phone. One or the other, not both.

This is apparently a limit of how the phone itself pairs for BT. Possibly there is a BT version in some phones that allows them to stream music to one device, while connected to a second device at the same time for phone calls, but my phones don't offer that option.

Workaround is a $54 Patriot 128GB USB stick in the glove box. No streaming, just a thousand LPs stuffed in the love box. (Now, if the car was only smart enough to random play an entire media stick.)

This is incorrect. My iPhone connects to both at the same time. When I get a phone call it switches automatically.

bboy, which iphone model is that?

Starting with the 5 series, the iphones have had a special Bluetooth stack that implements "low power Bluetooth" (instead of NFC) so it may have some other advanced abilities.

What I said still applies to *most* phones out there. Remember, the iphone is still a small player in the larger market. Your success only means that model of iphone has that ability.

I have the iPhone 6 with MY2012. Yes, Audi does not manufacture this any more, but it will still work. I have tried on a buddy's 2014 Q5.

    "I have the iPhone 6 "
Then the Bluetooth "stack" in your phone is newer than 99-1/2% of all the other phones on the market.
Don't expect the other 99-1/2% to work quite the same in all ways.
Even when iOS8 is pushed out to the older phones, it may not update the BT stack in them.

Tune2Air worked flawless with my IP5S and my current iPhone 6, in both my 09A4 and 11Q5. Phone does a great job of automatically switching back and forth between both modules. Great solution for ~$100.

For what it's worth I've used the tune2air on my 2009 with symphony system non nav with both android and iPhone. Though it doesn't give any sort of control on the screen Or track info the song forward and back buttons on the car work perfect and both iPhone and android spotify apps and stored music works without any issue.
