Cost to repair paint on the front bumper?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Recently I hit the barrier in parking lot with my front bumper...(I hate to mention this Wish I had a parking sensor on the front side) And I ended up with a crack of painting on the driver side front bumper.. Fortunately there are no more damage on the plastic bumper except for the painting.. Just want to have a sense how much it would cost to repair this painting and where should I go to get this repair done.

    Thanks!

To repaint the whole bumper, $500, to get a touch up pen and just dab it since its under the bumper, $40

Thanks for your info. Actually there are two damage points on my bumper. One is not very noticable, as shown in the first pic. Another is more noticeable and serious, which you can see from the second pircture. The paint at the spot is cracking and flake off. Is there any cheaper way to treat the second damage?

I apologize. I only looked at the first photo.

With it cracking, it's going to need a re spray and then re clear coat.

You could try and have the shop just re spray that area and blend it all in. That'll be much more inexpensive. It really depends on the shop, your color is silver which should make it easier.

For the guaranteed good look, full respray

Agreed with the above post. And $500 seems about right for painting one panel and blending it in.

Looks like your fog grille is bend too. You could try to gettho it scrap the flaking paint put some filler sand paper it and buy your color paint and touch it up and then clear coat. But it will be visible.

    This is the cheapest option....

I would just respray as by now your bumper has prob taking a beating with road grit and could use a refresh, then it will give you a chance to apply 3m to it and keep it fresh.

the lower part would just need touchup pen and be nearly invisible if you weren't looking for it, the drivers valence will need a respray to repair that. A partial respray would prob not look good as the other side would have road grit chips which contrasts with the fresh paint.
