B6 Factory Options Thread

I've decided to compile a picture thread of all of the available interior options for the B6 chassis Audis.

I will first include all of the interior options, Including trim, Steering wheels, shift knobs, seats, and interior color scheme on the list.

This is not a complete list (to my knowledge) and I would like people to contribute anything they find. I've been collecting these photos for a LONG time now and decided to throw them all together in one thread.

Rules are: Only OEM options. Not including custom/aftermarket seats, redyed leater, painted trim, aftermarket shift knobs, flat bottom wheels, etc, unless they are in a picture that includes some other option I am trying to show.

Also including exterior colors pictures and options later on.

Most of these are NOT my photos. Credit goes to the photographers and to the car owners. If you see your photo and want it removed, please tell me.

You have a few things wrong above. The Atlas Gray car is Silver. Also that yellow looks more like Imola Yellow then citrus.

As for shift knobs the Perforated is a USP or Ultra Sport. They also have it in a steering wheel too.

Another steering wheel option is the 3 spoke with radio controls.

You're missing the 18" wheels that came with the Ulrasport (USP) package.

There's a few differences in lighting too...

Halogen US

and variations between the chrome insert, flat grey, and black.

For those that came with factory Xenons, the "Coming Home" feature (Auto Headlights) was added in 2004 which also creates a different headlight switch. In Europe, there was also the option for manual adjustments using controllers next to the switch (those controllers were available for halogen lights.. not sure if also for Xenon lights).

There's a variation in interior trim. There are two types of aluminum trim: fish scale and brushed. There's wood trim (different between A4 and S4), piano black, and carbon fiber for the B7 RS4.

The Cold Weather package gave you heated seat controls. For 2002 only, the A4 had both front and rear heated seats. The S4 would also have both front and rear heated seats.

Rear heated seats were not available here in the US after the 2002 model year for the A4. You posted about the USP wheels while I was typing my reply.

I mentioned the shift knob and steering wheel. They're pictured.

and the avant is citrus (It's an A4- they didn't come imola) and you posted about a B5.

There is also no such thing as a 3 spoke with Radio controls. Only 4spoke has that. The only buttons available for a 3 spoke are TIP buttons and two small buttons on the rear. They can be rewired for radio, but they are not factory radio.

According to Audi, my '02s interior color is "EBONY" not Sabre. I asked them and they said the label was EBONY in their system. Just maybe an extra tid bit. I don't know if EBONY and Sabre are different colors or not though.

Transverse carfs have reverse next to 1st, for both 5 speed and 6 speed cars.

Longitudinal cars have reverse next to 1st or under 5th, for 6 and 5 speed cars respectively.

Rear heated seats were not available here in the US after the 2002 model year for the A4.

Didn't realize that. USP Avant AND rear heated seats...I feel sooo exclusive now.

B6 came only with two diesel engines, the 1.9tdi and 2.5tdi. The 3.0tdi came with the B7.

There were some other interior options, although they are fairly rare. I've seen three blue leather interiors in the US and I think they were Maritime Blue.

Brens, post #3, the "S4 Avus" shows older Audi avuses. They appear to be the B5 S4 avuses. Those were not offered on the B6. Rather, the B6 S4 avus was, which looks slightly different, and is larger in diameter. It is 18", compared to the B5 17". IMO, the B6 18's are more chunkier and sharper, if that makes sense.

I believe a factory option for the B6 S4 was rear power sun-shade (operated by a button in the center console) and manually-operated rear door window sun-shades. Not sure if A4's had this option.

Same goes for black headliner

I think Europe had an option for sunvisors without warning stickers.

There is also the drivers side kick-panel, which I believe can be had with an extra cubby hole in Europe.





Also the votex body kit which was a factory option. The pieces go over top of your existing body work, which is ugly IMO. I think it would look awesome if it replaced the bumpers instead, and was more integrated - rather than looking like a cheap tacked-on afterthought that doesn't belong, or poor body-work.

OP This is a pic of my ( forever missed ) Atlas Grey 2004 1.8T Avant. In low light the AG takes on almost Dolphin Grey hues. This is often a mistake I see when dealers list the grey cars they often list a grey or even silver as Atlas Grey. In real light Dolphin Grey and Atlas Grey are unmistakable.

The 170hp 1.8T engine goes by the code if AMB. The S-Line 190hp engine (not the Ultrasport in the US) goes by the code of BEX. The BEX engine isn't just an engine tune. There's beefier hardware that went into the engine, the exhaust manifold, and came with the dual side mounted intercoolers.

There's a Mark 2 version of the RNS-E that can be fitted to our B6 models just like the original RNS-E. The Mk2 was originally sold in the Mk2 TT line, so a change in the faceplate would be needed to fit in the B6 A4/S4. It offers a higher resolution screen, TMS (traffic monitoring), faster routing, auto dimming, and you can also use the latest Audi Music Interface (AMI) to plug in your iPhone/iPod and have full display and control over playlists, albums, artists, songs, etc.
