    D2 S8 - Exhaust

So I got an S8 yesterday, my gf drove it home (150 miles or so) and I drove my 996 home. The 996 has fabspeed headers and muffler bypass pipes....she is a SCREAMER and I love it. I was in the S8 today just running to down and couldn't hear that beautiful v8 I've spent quite a bit of time researching mods for the car (intake, headers, exhaust, etc) and am having a hard time. I'm having a hard time finding anything on the D2 S8, post exhaust mods in this thread. What you did, buy it cat-back, custom fab, just chopped the mufflers, etc?

Thanks :) I'll be copying someones I'm sure, just want to hear some good stuff/ideas.

Are you anywhere near Detroit? If so, there may be a shop that can help you out with long tube headers and a cat back exhaust, along with a tune and even manual conversion. It all depends how far you want to go.

If you just want to hear the v8, then you can remove the mufflers or resonators like the C5 A6 and S6 guys do. You dont want to mess with the intake. The factory intake is already superior than any aftermarket that has been tried.

perfect! CountVohn on AudiRevolution has done all kinds of stuff with the 4.2 belt driven cars. He even did a custom Kenne Bell blower car.

    CountVohn tuned A8 6speed conversion

My A6 4.2 project with S8 intake, S8 ported heads, Miltech downtubes, JHM tune, 6speed conversion, Magnaflow catback and high flow cats. Pretty much the works except longtube headers and forced induction

Introduce yourself on Audirevolution. The 4.2 community is very strong over there. Anywhere from mild to wild with your car, they can help out.

If it was me, I would skip right to supercharger. I went down the long NA route, and while the gains were solid, it doesnt compare to FI
